Happy New Year y’all 🎉🎉🎊

One thing I really liked about today was the change in style. Today just felt so different then what we’ve gotten used to after so long and I enjoyed that. Everything was taken seriously, instead of being treated like some big joke or a soap opera parody. And the episodes itself, and the characters reactions, seemed a lot more realistic. I really hope people BTS are taking notice of this.

I noticed that too.....it just felt different.  I thought these last two episodes have been good.

Emily O'Brien was great today and it reminded that she's a phenomenal actress.

Was the coffee scene foreshadowing something for EJ?  I'm confused if that was his way of expressing his grief over his stepdaughter, whom he just met last month (with this head on her body), or if they were trying to convey that EJ had taken something?

It looked like something was going on with him.  Maybe he's taking drugs as well?  Maybe to cope with the loss of the baby?

Did not expect the Brady twist.

Do people still drink warm milk?

I was confused about the EJ scene too.  He was shaking like he took something or was withdrawing from something, but maybe the stress of everything was taking it's toll?

I think old people drink warm milk

Maybe someone should offer some warm milk to EJ?

A lot of stupid people in today’s episode, but their stupid actions made sense considering what they’re going through. The acting was pretty good all around, for the most part. Jamie Martin Mann is still really standing out to me. I hope they continue to use him/Tate effectively. Btw, what was that little angry spasm that EJ did at the coffee pot?

It appeared to me as if EJ was having a panic attack which he worked himself out of. If that's where they're going with this, it wouldn't be such a surprise for it to first manifest in a period of great stress & EJ/Nicole definitely are in a place where stressors just keep on coming!

On the other hand, Tripp was the smartest person today lol I’m glad that he put everything together about Ava. Still not sure about him being a secondary character in that storyline. There are better ways for them to cause problems for him and Wendy.

And, we got an update about John’s dad. Glad he’s doing well 😂😂

Overall, today wasn’t the best episode. It seems there is a writer on the scab team that isn’t as good as the rest. But at the same time, I’m really enjoying the change in style that each script has. It was well passed the time for a change and I’m glad that we finally got one.

Of course, the ending was classic where one person, Tate, is telling the absolute unvarnished truth & then another person lies & says they did it to protect them, Brady, and then Tate himself lies & says he did it to protect him, Brady! I don't think any genre does that dance except soaps!

I've been behind on episodes, so haven't been posting. I loved Nicole's therapy session. I was not at all surprised that Nicole could make love. Nor did I find it surprising that now Abe loves Paulina. However, I am bored with his amnesia. Are they going to make it permanent?

Another good show but I can't take EJ as the DA. It is preposterous! The scabs should've fixed Ron hideous writing and fixed EJ being the DA.

Yep. It's the kind of writing that sends the show into parody.

Nah, it was just bad acting.

Noticed Janet directed today's episode. Has she directed an episode before?

God yes, she's on the regular rotation.

Here, love, meet your directors: Janet Spellman-Drucker, Noel Maxam, Angela Tessarini, Scott McKinsey (Beverlee's son), The Monster Alarr (till April, dammit), Sonia Blangiardo Goins & David Shaughnessey (brother to Charles Shaughnessey & father to Amy)

😂😂😂

It looks like EJ is taking the same drugs Holly is.

And I wonder if Holly found the drugs she took in EJ's room.

Okay, if you ask me it was clearly a panic attack.

But, beyond that why do we have suspicion about the pills? She said they were ADHD drugs & that would have been an easy high school purchase.

Holly said they were ADHD drugs (so Adderall I assume), but the paramedics and Tripp said it was an opioid overdose.  I mean maybe the pills were cut with fentanyl or something, but I a bit interested in what she actually took.

I still think there might be something to EJ's behavior that's not just bad acting lol.

I agree, she’s seemed more motherly lately. Still can’t really see her as Theresa though.

In those scenes with Alex, it’s almost like a completely different character.

I finally liked her in the new role. It’s still hard not to just see Gwen, but I do think she’s getting better which makes sense as she’s more comfortable in the role and further away from playing Gwen.

Today instead of being aware of her accent & diction, IOW that she's not using a British accent, I got past it & was able to just hear her words. Possibly because she was angry, truly enraged. Good sign, though.
