Nice, sure...but I did not appreciate that he was singled out while other actors were shelved into the Memoriam.

Exactly. The Memoriam was OK - but I think given the magnitude of performers who died, they could have done a tribute to several of them incorporating at least a moment of footage. The BAFTA and British Soap Awards do it and it's so effective and beautiful. No offence to the performer of the song, but had they used simple instrumental music, this could have been easily accomplished.

Yes, Liza commented on Instagram that she had long been estranged from her parents when Helmut died. Susan was clearly emotional in her speech but given she's never discussed the estrangement, I thought it interesting that she specifically paid tribute to her son. I really liked how Susan pointed out the actors she'd worked with who were now elsewhere. Although I doubt she'd do it, I would love to see her guest on Y&R and share a scene with Peter Bergman. They have always seemed to have a warm friendship over the years.

He has always seemed like a kind son in the little snippets you'd see of him over the years when La Lucci was interviewed.

Just my two cents but I hazard to guess that Liza is the problem given Susan (& Helmut), Andreas, his family, remain close. As well, Liza's tone when Helmut died was cold. I just wonder what Brooke Kerr is thinking given she worked with Liza for years.

Really disgusted by that. Jackie was part of the bedrock of that show.

Overall, a really dull show. The tributes to Y&R and GH were incredibly bad. The lack of footage for actor nomination packages, no clip packages of any value for each show, the ceremony is a husk of itself.

N'Neka Garland would be receiving an Emmy, posthumously.
Per the Emmys' website she's listed as one of the GH producers receving the award.

Also all the fired writers at Y&R get their Emmy for writing, since this was for 2022 episodes.  Good for them.

At the conclusion I found myself saying how glad I was that it wasn't a Vegas or web production & then thought that I was really saying that we know it could have been worse. Hmmm.

I was amazed that Valentini seemed like he was on some kind of downers!!!

Not for the 1st time I thought too much time was spent on visuals of the singers during the IM. And why was Anne Heche included when she died Aug. 11, 2022? Plus, Pat Robertson? Are you kidding me?!!

Then, my predictions, geeze I got two right! Guest & Writing. Alley Mills looked fantastic but her footwear was alarming.

Francesa James, can I say she looked amazing!

As is often the case I was disappointed that DAYS was shut out. Only because I really thought 3 actors had nailed their categories - Billy Flynn, Cary Christopher & Stacy Haiduk. So they make up this years' THEY WUZ ROBBED! for me. But, so was Melissa Claire Eagan!

    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.
    • For any other soap, I think I’d agree, but GH, I don’t know

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
