The Thanksgiving family photos look good. Much much better to have a traditional holiday episode rather than that asinine idiotic Gloria and Phyllis fantasy episode the show did two years ago.

I agree the zero follow-up to Friday’s big cliffhanger was very strange, especially given how much attention it is getting at the moment. Probably the biggest news on Y&R since SW returned last year.

I still think the best route for Chance is to start his own high end PI business.

I'm okay with him going to business for now just because there's like one crime a year on this show. Maybe he'll be like Nate and this will be good for him.

But, your idea sounds better. A PI would be good to have around, like, instead of Audra having to Google Claire she can have chance investigate her. Or Phyllis could have gone to chance during the summer when she and Tucker were fighting and he could have found out about that statutory rape cover up.

Yes, rather than  shoehorning everyone into business stories that seem to consist of mergers, takeovers and job swapping.

Whatever happened to the Newman Media podcasts that were going to shake up the industry?

Chance as a PI would give him more flexibility and logic  to be sitting around cafes and restaurants (as the possibility of him having an office or staff would be nil)

It worked for Paul as he had the office, Lynne, Nathan etc and his job could be utilized where necessary-otherwise he was involved in cases we didn't need to see onscreen.

I get that PIs are a soap staple, but is that a viable career in 2023, or is it like being a telephone operator?

I mean, can't characters just Google each other for background information, and use web cams to follow each other?

Perhaps he could start a web security business, to stop viruses and online threats?  That seems a bit more modern.

As I said about the murder on DAYS, soaps have to incorporate technology that has become ubiquitous in modern life.  It is silly that Víctor doesn't have Ring cameras on the ranch.  Adam should use Apple tags, and Kyle should have smart home resources.  It could be cinematic to see web footage of Niki getting in her car before the kidnapping.

At least they had Clair texting, because the amount of time soap characters spend talking on the phone is remarkable.

    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
