It definitely seems like a fun start with a bit of mystery of Mamie’s motives are. Definitely enjoyed the Nate and Mamie scenes as well, definitely filling that desperately needed empty void for Nate, Devon, and Lily.

The B&W flashbacks are annoying, but at least the two 1995 ones Mamie had kept the original classic music intact.

Yeah, the start of this secret buyer story has been intriguing. And I am going to assume it's really Mamie and silently cheer.

I continue to love to see Nikki in Boss mode. It was a rush to see her stay with her heel on Kyle and Audra's necks. I have no sympathy for Kyle at the moment so Team Nikki on that cuz...justified or not...he's been a prick since the breakup from Summer. And as for Audra...she shouldn't have started with Nikki at their dinner so I enjoyed Nikki wiping the smirk right off of Audra's face.

I give credit where credit is due. I did like Phyllis figuring out the company Tucker was after and turning the screws to him.

I am sad to see Jack and Billy falling out. I can't believe how this double agent story with Billy is going. And I wish Ashley was around, but it is what it is.

Angry Victor was LOVE. I'm over whiny Victoria, too.

Very true. But it's been a minute since Billy and Jack have been on the outs when I've been watching. Usually it's Jack and Ashley. And I admit I have loved that through most of the current Abbott drama, Billy has been playing the straight man to it all versus being in the drama or the cause of said drama, which made it refreshing for me.

An older person losing their menttal capabilities isnt funny at all. But, This Victoria stuff makes me laugh her trying to make it look like Victors senile. I'm surprised EB hasn't made a comment on it. If it were Mal Young doing this he would be all over social media calling for his head.

Abbott family drama will always be ten times better for me than any old Newman drama, and that’s been especially true ever  since Diane’s return last year.

I again with you that Billy playing straight man has been a good change of pace and makes the character a lot more tolerable. It’s also very refreshing to see Billy back in the Jabot mix as opposed to being isolated to his podcasting career and being Chelsea’s protector.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
