To emphasize my comment...

Any email sent to whoever is in charge of PR these days at DAYS, the press is required to CC Albert.

Never in my life did I ever expect to know the email address of an EP, much less be expected to email them about PR matters.

While I can guess or outright know the email addy's for the other EPs and writers, I never email them out of respect for the job of PR.

I assume this is why Alarr is still there and hasn't been at least suspended. Soap fans have agitated for new writing & production talent for years, and it's always been a lost cause. There's no talent pipeline and shows aren't going to take a chance with folks from a non-soap background.

Okay, they don't have a public email per se. Instead they have a Get in Touch page to send them an email message or chat with a live agent from 9:00AM to 1:00AM ET. You can also reach them through direct message on social media at the accounts below:

I have contacts at Peacock and their email addresses. My comment was just pointing out that when I want something from the show, whether it be an interview, a request for comment on a story, or anything related to the show, the press is required to CC Albert as of the closing of the show's PR department. Currently, the point of contact is someone who works directly for Albert.

Again, it's partly because veteran staff closely guard and protect these cushy positions for themselves or their friends or relations. (I'm not condemning them for this in any way or questioning their talent, but one example of a family pipeline is the Cullitons and Claire Labine.)

GH has picked up some new talent, particularly talent of color, in the last decade BTS. But I think they also cut a few of them very recently.

And the less said about the last tatters of the soap press which happily regurgitate press releases, pointedly ignore any scandals (I'll never forget when they haughtily threatened to name a fairly well-known abusive actor at an ABC soap in the early 2000s while complaining only in a blind item) because it's for 'the good of the soaps' and then act like they're so cool showing out only on Twitter while they're barely making rent, the better. Yes, that includes Soap Opera Digest and what was Soap Opera Weekly. No, I am not going to hear excuses for them. From anyone.

    • I really have no problem with Kai as a character or with the actor. The problem is putting together two very nice people -- Kai and Trina. Neither of them has a bad side, neither of them has a devil on the shoulder, neither of them is impulsive. I think that's a problem in a soap relationship. Yeah, I agree. All this freaking out might make sense if Lulu wanted to do a tabloid expose on BLQ's LOVE CHILD. We have no indication that's the case.
    • So Sonni would have somebody to talk to who she wasn't conspiring with (Will or Alan)? Alex kept telling Sonni how important her friends were...when she had virtually no friends. Instead they created loyal servants like Jane and Vera to give Alex people to play off of. They did that with Iris on AW, but Vivien was mostly there for comic relief Alex keeping Marah's paternity a secret was absurd. But I still love the scene between Alex and Alan where he convinces her by reminding her how they protected each other from their abusive father. Chris and Bev ATE that scene. Unfortunately, that took place only a few months before he exited the show...always thought they could have built on that, explored more how being Brandon's children screwed them both up. Maybe even used it as an explanation for the way their relationship could constantly swing from hatred to love. Instead of it being merely dictated by the plot.
    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.
    • Mac Scorpio and Kevin Collins, GH

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
