That article is riddled with so many errors (based on Google translation), I just want to scream!

They referred to TK as "new" Ridge, but yet not Annika as "New" Hope, yet TK's been playing Ridge longer LMAO

I can confirm. According to the article B&B was the first show to put a transgender woman under contract in 2015... as in Karla Mosley's Maya Avant lmao

That was what did it for me! Let's hope it was the Google translation and not the writer not knowing what the hell they were talking about.

This is true! This is true!

Ironically, Ronn Moss and Kim Matula played Ridge and Hope the last time the show was in Italy, so it would have made sense for the writer to say "New" Hope for Annika as they did for Thorsten.

B&B: What’s Coming This Summer

“We’re really focused on Rome, this filming we’re doing for Rome,” Brad Bell, B&B’s head writer and executive producer, previews. “We’re going back in a few weeks to do a shoot in Rome.” And what’s after Rome? “[T]hen [we’re going to] focus on building out this younger generation — with Ridge Forrester [Jr. played by Joshua Hoffman] all over again!”

“He’s great,” Lang says of her TV son. “He’s young but so mature. He brings positive energy to the set and is prepared with his dialogue. Bell says that Hoffman is a find, and he’s looking forward to writing for him. “Oh, he’s great, a very talented actor,” the showrunner says. “I can’t wait to write for him this summer.”

It's funny to think of the soaps that were in some of their more notable eras in their 35th year: GH was in arguably it's golden era with the Labines and Riche at the helm, AMC was coming out of a mini-resurgence in popularity with Bianca's baby switch, ATWT was smackdab in the middle of Marland's heyday and...B&B is running on fumes with Sheila terrorizing this cavalcade of idiots and Brooke and Ridge are reuniting for the umpteenth time this decade.

If only Bill, Jr. and Lauralee would tell their brother that he's burned out and needs to give up the HW'ing reins.

People say Brad Bell is burnt out, but who would you have to replace him?  There really isn't much out there.

Ultimately: I'd love to see someone like Gregori J. Martin or Jen Pepperman takeover; or, my ultimate dream, a British soap producer who can handle the thirty minute format.

What really baffles me is that Brad doesn’t seem to take any advice from anyone. He must have surrounded himself with yes men, because there’s no way that people wouldn’t point out to him the nonsensical mess he’s putting out.

Agreed. Except the show is doing well  - at least in US, where stable ratings is a huge win. Unless the show starts losing international licensing and experiences a major ratings drop, there's zero incentive for change.

Could the show be better? Definitely. The questions is: do the low-info masses that watch it care? So far the answer is no.
