Coal Miner's Daughter

I never had watched it all the way through and I was surprised at how many actual places I recognized. Sissy Spacek did a good job capturing Loretta's unique accent but I still think the real Loretta Lynn's accent is as Fake as Michael Jackson's little boy voice. I grew up not far from where she was born and raised and I have never heard anyone else have an accent like hers.

I just watched "Step Up" from Netflix. Loved it. A fun and neat movie. The last dance sequence is worth buying the DVD in my opinion. I surely will.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: The first HP movie I've liked. Really liked it, and I'm glad they didn't screw up my favorite book.

Children of Men

DEPRESSING. GRAPHIC.

I'd give other reasons as to why I didn't like the movie, but they'd be spoilers...so I won't.

Don't get invested in the storyline...but if you want to go and just watch some people blow things up and torture people, then you might like it.

Casino Royale: Way too slow for a Bond movie. Craig was OK, but I still prefer Pierce. The Bond girl (and I use the term loosely) was anything but sexy.

Hidalgo: Horrendous

Van Helsing: Sucky, not as entertaining as it should be.

Opposite opinion. I don't recommend it for the squeamish, but it is very very well made. If you can't get past the violence then maybe you wouldn't like it, but the world is a very violence place right now (Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Darfur, suicide bombings). Stuff like this is happening around the world. It was emotional, touching and at points really quite funny. The best film I've seen all year (meaning within 365 days, not just the last 7).

Get invested in the storyline because it will take you for one heck of a ride.

A Very Brady Sequel-

now before people laugh at me for watching it, I really liked it. It was one of those movies that's so bad it's good.

I love it when the guy accidentally eats some shrooms and starts tripping out to "Good Morning Starshine". It's so cheesy, but funny.

And I forgot that Jesse Soffer was in it! He looks so different!

The Black Dahlia: Awful. There is such an overdose of "style" it comes off as being humurous.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon AWESOME

I just loved this movie. It is a Chinese female warrior fantasy movie and I was totally engrossed in it all. The action sequences, the flying sequences and the love stories were just fabulous. I cried at the end. I could watch it over and over and over.

Thanks for the review of Black Dahlia as I will now remove it from my Netflix queue.

Dragon Fly, which stars Kevin Costner and Kathy Bates. It was actually pretty good and had a nice ending if you like happy endings tied up in a nice little bow.

Alpha Dog, which was a really good movie considering one of the major characters was played by Justin Timberlake, who surprisingly did a good job, possibly one of the best in the movie
