I know Will is named for Bill

Will isn't named after Bill Horton. He is named after his aunt Billie Reed.

When Will was born he was believed to be Austin's child, and he named his son after his sister Billie whom he had spent most of his life with.  (Will was later discovered to be Lucas' child, so Billie is still Will's aunt.)
I know Will's legal name is "William" but he was named after aunt Billie.

Billie Reed's legal name is Billie, not Wilhelmina.
(After Billie was an adult, Kate later created "Countess Wilhelmina" as a business entity).

(Billie isn't her birth name.  When Austin and Billie were children, their biological father Curtis took them from Kate and renamed them Austin and Billie, in order to hide them from Kate.  He named her "Billie Holiday Reed".  I don't know if the show has ever said what their original names were at birth).

I liked the reveal and I liked the wedding. Everyone looked good, and it's actually starting to look like there's some money to be spent.

I was surprised by how many extras were at the wedding. I did wish more regulars were there. But still it looked pretty good. They even had waiters. 🤣

Fact of the day!  I guess the name still worked when he turned out to Lucas's kid, due to Lucas's father's name.  Although naming a kid William after Billie has got to be the first time in history that has happened.

These DAYS names are an endless source of trivia.  I was thinking that even though there's still no Addie, wasn't Hope named as a tribute to her mother?

Thank you for your expertise and Happy New Year.

I was born in '72, so a bit before my soap-watching time, but I believe Addie and Doug named their baby Hope because Addie - I think - had battled cancer and wanted to reflect...well...hope?

But I think it was a factor...

Anyone that knows otherwise, feel free to correct this!

I'm glad that they seemed to have upped the budget for this season, even before the move to Peacock was a thing.

Yep.

That's what I've always heard

Wasn't Robert off the show from 1980 till 82?

He appeared March 1980 and then again in December 1981. I try to keep the episode data in the In Loving Memory posts as brief as possible, so technically he appeared in both years, so I just put those as the dates.
