At the very least just acknowledge Alex looks like Ben and call it a day.  I don't even care if they don't explain it.  Just say it's a really weird coincidence.

That would be ideal and I think VK is a good actress and has a great look, but has she ever booked anything outside of Days?  Not to be mean, but it doesn't seem like she had any other projects during her absences.  All I see on her wiki is stuff she did before Days.

While I think it's possible for her to land such a job, a huge thing for those streaming series is that they don't really tend to end up paying the bills because they're usually so short (8-10 episodes and maybe two/three months work and long breaks). There was a story the other month about one of the Euphoria actresses really struggling to make ends meet outside the show.

Maybe she'll be able to make enough money on doing "social media influencer" work, but that seems like a "job" that will probably go on a downward trend as we're entering a huge recession...

Seriously, I want to take that straw and stick it in Alex's eye

The writers kind of dropped the ball by not having Alex and Gabi already know each other, but then again, maybe Sonny organized that on purpose to keep his pervy ass brother away from Gabi

All the more reason that TN could have played a Weston

I think RSW has one of the highest guarantees.  But then again I think Deidre has topped the episode count overall the last two years and I feel like we go a full month sometimes without seeing Marlena, so RSW might just be more *noticeable* being on all the time because everyone hates Alex.

Alex is better than Ben. I said it. Not sure what it means. Alex remains a throwaway. Especially when Justin is MIA and Anjelica is dead. DAYS misses the mark again. Chanel/Allie saved those scenes big time.

Who asked for Kristen/Brady/Chloe again? Kristen seems so above both of them. Eileen's Kristen wouldn't subject herself to bothering.

It was nice to see Paulina/Abe and Roman lasted the whole episode. Also nice to see Kate and Lucas. Certainly a better episode than yesterday, though not a high bar.

Time to give Quan a shot as HW. Though I suppose he bears some blame for the state of the show being so ... meh.

Oh there's an obnoxious difference IMO but I see what you're saying. He's basically playing AMC Pete as a HO with shades of boring Ben. It's such a waste of Alex Kiriakis as a character. Just let RSW go (hey CW with their 58 year old demo). He can get another gig. You have Joey, Andrew, Tripp, Paul, etc. just waiting in the wings. (Paul/Andrew would give hotSonny something to do while Will is MIA filming Hallmark movies; though Tinker can easily book roles ... they better use him)

As someone who wanted Alex this is such a let down. The glasses and hair were NETWORK NOTES. Is NBC that high on him? Again, no offense to RSW; I can separate actor and character.

And now Stephanie is going to be wasted on him. Sadly it feels Stephanie/Alex are easy Philip/Ciara 'replacements'.

I suppose they could explain away Anjelica's heart attack as her faking it. We've had that before, right? I think I'm grasping at any hope to make him interesting or worth the airtime spent on him.

They didn't even bother casting Alex. They just gave the role to RSW. There should've been a casting call for this role. But who gives a [!@#$%^&*]! Right? That's why NBC cancelled it!

Ron still acts like he has no actual investment. Abby killed (Marci Miller so got the Guy Wilson treatment in terms of the character being expendable). Laura killed. I'd rather watch Laura rant and rave at Kate or Nancy. I digress ...

No casting call at all? Of course not.

Wilson as Pete Cortlandt on AMC had a lot of swagger but also some of the arrogance and imperious temper of James Mitchell's Palmer, his father, and that was in the writing - Pete wasn't just a hunky dreamboat Prince Charming. He also was overcompensating for his geeky adolescence, which Colby Chandler brought up often. Again, RW is no thespian but he played what they gave him well with decent writing. He is likely not capable of playing two unique characters on the same show, let alone selling a reformed serial killer to an audience, but the writing is also doing him no favors and never has.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
