So much promise for Sonny and Will in Beyond Salem — and completely wasted since then.

And speaking of the wedding, Missy Reeves looked like an old hag. She must think that hair color is hot, but it isn’t, and neither is the style. I loved it when Gwen called her “your old lady” when talking to Abigail.

Loved loved looooved all of the wedding shenanigans this week.

Finally Gwen got what was coming to her.

So they follow up the next episode with zero wedding stuff. Especially after Gwen’s parting words to Abby and her mom asking what Gwen said. That’s just poor television planning.

Baby Bo? Nah... I'll stick with Baby Serial Killer. And lmao @ Ben saying he wishes that he had known Bo. I actually wish that had happened too; seeing Bo beat the holy hell out of him would make it all worth it

But why exactly does the devil need to drug Ben? He's the devil, for Christ's sake. Just knock him out

EJ looked good today though. The shirt he was wearing is like a shirt that I would wear.

And I enjoyed Tripp and Chanel. There was always chemistry between them and I'm excited to see what's going to become of that quad once the possession finally ends.

Agreed.

The pacing is so off. There's gotta be a better way that they could get around the episode guarantees

I am wondering if Days should go back to the JER schedule where the A stories were Mon, Wed, Fri and the B stories were Tue, Thur most weeks.  And if the A stories got ramped up it would be 4 days a week and vice/versa for B stories.   At least you were consistently seeing all the stories.  We go weeks without seeing some stories and characters.  Or maybe the show should do more arc stories like the 80's and 90's or even Beyond Salem where most of the cast is involved and everyone doesn't need to be shown everyday, but the story is still moving along via different characters.  The weird cast bubbles the show has now doesn't work well for continuity.

That is exactly what Baby Bo sounds like lol.  Bo isn't really a kid's name.  It would have to get a nickname, but Bo Jr. and Little Bo (Peep) are out.   They can't even give it two names like Bo-Douglas because Bo D. sounds like you are related to or are Bo Derek.  And you can't go with Beauregard because it's a mouthful and Ciara and Ben probably can't even pronounce that, so I guess I think it's all a dumb idea.  Just give the kid a regular name.  He doesn't deserve a cool name like Bo.

Friday was so bad after being treated to the wedding drama on Wednesday and Thursday.

I FFed through the Ben/Ciara crap. Yawn.

WTF were those scenes of a tied up Johnny watching a livestream of Tripp and Chanel? Terrible! And man, I like Carson but he was bad yesterday.

EJ is barely getting airtime or story these days and the little bits he does get are wasted on Clyde. Ugh. He looked good though.

I think I would have given a nod toward the Bradys' Irish roots and named the child something like Patrick.  Then, if they wanted to tie in the baby's direct lineage, Ben and Ciara could have given him two middle names: Beauregard Douglas.  So, the full name would be Patrick Beauregard Douglas Weston.

Eh, Gwen was lashing out. It won't matter when we discover the Devil resurrected Laura as a 'thank you' for her evil work in destroying Gwen's mother and cheating Gwen out of a happy childhood.

As far as Gwen not being redeemable - Ben says

Wasn't Patrick Lockhart assumed to be Ciara's father (and the only possibility we saw on screen to be the dad) until he turned psycho?  They probably would avoid Patrick in particular, but something Irish would be nice.  Although with names like Bo/Roman, the actual Brady's don't lean too far into the Irish lineage with boys names.  I don't know, but I prefer that spawn is not named after Bo lol.

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
