He is younger than GV but older than JJ.  Here's my thing-JKJ is having enough trouble playing a character he (practically) originated 20 plus years ago.  I don't think he can take on someone else's iconic character.  I know the writing is awful for Phillip, but JkJ is not exactly hitting the mark with his acting choices.

A mess.  But JJ did those weird greasy bangs and watery eyes as Lucky, so that wouldn't exclusively rule him out for me.  Many other factors would lol

I saw that too.  I assumed SBu was older, but he played a teen in the early 90's while JKJ played at teen in the early 2000's so I figured there was a larger gap in age.  SBu looks like he is an entirely different person from 1997.  His neck alone is three times the size.

I think Steve Burton has a bit of toxic masculinity. He presents as peaceful but he bulked up like he's ready for a fight and some of his personal views are questionable to me. The anti-vaxx stuff, chumming with Tucker Carlson, looking like he's high on roids all the time.

He seems angry, I hope he can let it go because he seems like an alright guy outside of that stuff.

I don't think he's attractive at all anymore. He was never my type but I could see why others thought he was hot. Now? He looks buff and malnourished at the same time. It's weird.

I used to think Jax, Sonny, and Jason were so hot in the 90's.  None of them aged particularly well.  Ingo probably looks the best still, but he's Ingo so that excludes him from being hot.  I think it would help if Steve found a happy medium between his super skinny 90's look and his roided out look.  Comparing SBu and Ingo to Days stars like GV and EM there is no contest.  The Days guys look much better.   MB is quite a bit older and I like the grey, but he was so good looking and charming back in the day and that is gone now.  I do think a lot of the stories and behind the scenes stuff have made all of them less likable to me over the years.  MB is making a comeback into my good graces with his book and his you tube show.  He comes across as a decent guy.

Apparently in todays episode everyone gets a chance with the Salem brain. Belle figures out Brady is being set up, Steve figures out that MarDevil is going to free Jan, and even Tripp was smart to play it cool when he came upon Marlena and Jan.

I’m getting some weird vibes from these Kate and Philip scenes. Kate has gone from being 100% on Philips side to now appearing very concerned that her son Philip has a serious problem and has gone off the deep end. I won’t hold my breath that the show will follow through with Philip’s apparent and obvious mental issues, but they are being written pretty good today in a overall poor storyline.

MarDevil knocks out another person with that hospital tray SMH this is getting tiresome.

Phillip needs some psychological help. I imagine once Marlena is no longer possessed, she’ll end up being his doctor and curing him. I felt bad for Kate trying to get through to her son.

Today was a pretty entertaining episode. I always like Jan pop ins.

    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
    • She was so wonderful. Glad your handle has been a tribute to her.
    • Hopefully Alan has learned to not interrupt or interject with pointless information while someone is in the middle of telling a story. I almost think it would be better if Alan was a producer behind the scenes.. and he just had the actors on screen talking and asking one another questions.  Those interviews tend to work better.
    • It was only recently announced that Denise Alexander passed away on March 5, 2025. She was my all time favorite actress and role model. She will be dearly missed.  Denise Alexander, ‘General Hospital' and ‘Days of Our Lives' Actress, Dies at 85
