I would've combined the Doug drama with the wedding. Mardevil finds out that Julie is visiting Doug while she's at the wedding. To stop her mardevil transforms into Julie spilling Paulina secret.  Later on everyone arrives at the hospital to confront Julie but its the real Julie and she denies being at the wedding. Mardevil says Julie has lost it and must be committed with Doug. Later we see mardevil drugging both Doug and Julie so they won't expose Mardevil.

Later Abe and Pauline marry with no one believing Julie...

Mardevil should never have blabbed to Chanel the secret.

I would've had Doug escape the mental hospital. John and Susan escaping from the DiMera crypt. While all 3 head to the church. For a big confrontation with MarDevil. As everyone is already reeling from Chanel's reveal. You just can't do big reveals on the cheap.

Oooh...I like the Doug/Julie idea.  People here could generally write better for the show.  I do imagine age/contracts make it more difficult to show the Hayes on the regular, but if you are going to make Doug possessed use it.  It was a clever idea, but the execution hasn't been good.

Also, Susan is such a nitwit.  The first thing I would have done was work on freeing John.  He has proven to be quite skilled in these situations.  I would not be sad if Susan was a casualty of Mardevil lol

That would've have been great if the entire town was there for sure, but the MarDevil stuff will drag on.  I am curious how it will play out.  I don't think John is going to be in that crypt for like 3 more months lol.

The simply can’t afford to have so many people in one spot anymore.  It like the 90s or early to mid 2000’s where you can the whole cast and a bunch of extras around. The budget isn’t there anymore.

one thing I noticed, what happened to the church? It got smaller and facing a different way now.

Well they at least could have had all the people in the episode at the church.  And cut out a few Ben/Ciara bedroom scenes to add 4 or 5 others.

The church is now made of Styrofoam.

They are sort of cute!  settle Kate down with a nice guy.  Roman has had to spend years watching his exes celebrate their other romantic relationships at the Pub in front of him.  He needs some love.

She hasn't slept with Brady.   Which considering both characters is shocking, but she hooked up with his dad.  That doesn't seem to be an issue for Brady because of Kristen lol

I enjoyed the reveal. My only problem with it was the same thing that often has been on a problem on Days lately: Too Fast!

Everyone behind the scenes is always talking about how much time they have to fill when it comes to a soap, so use some of that time to have a great payoff for your storyline. This needed to play out for a lot longer than just one episode, and yes, there needed to be more people at the ceremony. Abe is Mayor, for Christ's sake!!! At least have some extra playing a photographer, reporter, etc. there to cover the event.

And yeah, Susan is just annoying. She really wasn't needed in the possession storyline. If they're borrowing from movies for this, they should have her take the demon into her own body and sacrifice herself like at the end of The Exorcist.

Susan babbling on and on to John was annoying.  She's not tied up.  Freaking shut up and do something.

Unfortunately, Sal Stowers is not good at acting.  She's lovely but those scenes after the reveal were cringy.  Raven Bowles isn't great either, but she has a charisma that SS lacks so it makes up for it.

    • And based on the previews for today, maybe we’ll, uh, finally see something

    • Haven't seen today's ep yet but so will be interested to see the clothes. So far I think they have been very character specific (even if I don't like some of them eg Kat's cutsie style) Anita is very showy/glittery, Nicole classic elegance, Dani sexy/bold colors etc. Unlike Y&R which seems much more generic. Also BTG pays attention to the men's wardrobe and has developed a style for the boyz-which is harder to do with male fashion. The absence of any of Derek/Ashley at any of these big events again demonstrates how they are in a different universe to the rest of the show. Not that a nurse and a fireman would be there but still they seem destined at this point to stay in their own lane and have little interaction with the core of the show.
    • Agnes had written for Bernard Grant for many years on TGL as well as Ernest Graves and Joe Gallison,Doris Belack,Robert Milli, and  Antony Ponzini at AW. So she would probably gravitate to writing a role with an actor in mind or choosing someone she had written for before who she knew could deliver.
    • Once Johnny Dallas' cut himself off from Laurie Ann Karr and their son, and once Laurie successfully recovered from her mental problems, she wanted a new, fresh, and healthy start for the next chapter of her life. She legally reverted her name and changed John Victor's  surname to Karr. After moving to the country (when Teri  Keane was dropped from the show), Bill and Martha Marceau legally adopted Jennifer, the baby girl whom they had earlier taken in when the child's biological mother, Taffy Simms (and other bio family members) proved to be unfit to raise her. Jennifer legally and emotionally became a Marceau, and gave that name to her own daughter, whom Jennifer birthed through surrogacy as a single parent. Et...voila! The Karr and Marceau legacies live on.

    • BLQ is having second thoughts regarding putting her baby up for adoption. Chase is upset he can't tell Dante. So both are putting this on at lulus feet. Saying she is holding it over them. Lulu is doing none of this.
    • Yes she absolutely was involved in that story which seems to have gone nowhere.  She didn't start to remove herself from the writing until 1973.
    • Y'all are bringing back great memories of AMC 2.0 for me.  I haven't thought about it and the new characters in so long, well since it aired, and I plan to go re-watch it now. When AMC ended, I finally came to peace with it and accepted that I will never watch an hour of a TV show daily in my life again... something that I had been doing since I was 6-7 years old. I was starting a new career, relationship, and chapter in life when AMC 2.0 came out.  I found a way to watch it, but things felt differently for me at the time and when it was so short-lived and gone, it became such a distant memory, sadly.
    • That's a great point. I wish the writing could find those nuances.
