She looks the same as she did when she played Carly.  Very beautiful woman.

He's not bad looking but his face definitely looks gaunt.  But to each their own..

Let's be honest though. There are some I "wouldn't" but I can't think of any men on the canvas who is objectively unattractive.  Who we prefer is a matter of taste.

For sure.  99% of soap stars are very attractive.  I mean I definitely wouldn't kick BB out of bed lol, but his face isn't as hot as his body.  His face is just very angular.

The start of Charlie's murder mystery is dull af. A total snooze fest. I know we are not going to get Henry Slesar or Doug Marland writing. But it was just crap. Out of nowhere. Ava realized she was a bad mom to Charlie. Which came across as Ava being propped up at Charlie's expense.  Just a slog to sit through. Sami popping up in the end was a good twist.

Anyone willing to guess from the outset as to the solution to the Charlie murder mystery?

Will it be (a) a Nora Fulon EON situation wherein he was killed to cover up another secret in a coexisting plot, (b) killed by mistake with someone else as the intended victim, or (c) killed by a non-contract character in order to portray Sami, once again, as being wrongly accused of a crime?

Extra points to anyone who can correctly predict how long it is before we find out the killer.

My main concern with any Carlivati mystery is that usually there is no investigation or clues for the audience to play along.  Ron likes to tease a mystery with an explosive start, then nobody does anything to solve the crime for awhile, and finally there is a long expository dump where the whole thing gets explained.  I think he engenders such an adversarial relationship with the audience because he always plays his proverbial hand to close to the vest.  Bell, Slesar, and Marland either let the audience in on the plot early on by showing the killer and how they got caught, or they allowed there to be red herrings and other mystery devices to maintain the suspense.  I find that I can never predict the outcome of a Carlivati mystery because we never get all of the information until the end of the plotline.

In my opinion, the right scenario would be to use the mystery in order to promote the relationship of Nicole and Rafe.  Nicole could suspect her rival Ava, which could interfere with Rafe's solving the crime.  Sami and John could get over their years of animosity by helping prove each other was innocent.  The secrets of the gambling ring could be blamed for the murder and it could all culminate in a takedown of the Vittali family, creating ongoing issues for Tripp, Ali, and Claire.

I don't tag actors. I commented on how disappointed I was in a storyline on Days. I wasn't even speaking to her and she came in like gangbusters telling me off. She's a nasty person.

I think we're past the point of recasting Shawn and Belle. If Cook had any interest he would have stuck around in 2015/2016. Kirsten couldn't run from DAYS fast enough. They aren't coming back.

Madison and Beemer are fine. I really don't get the hate for them. Could there have been more "exciting" people cast? Sure. But I think they're very likable in the roles and it's not like they're leads at this point anyway (even though they should be). Kirsten always grated on my nerves as Belle. I do miss Jason Cook, but I like Beemer. I do think both are capable of more but let's be honest, they haven't even been invested in Shawn and Belle to bother for over a decade. And anytime they gain some traction (like with Belle horny for Philip and Chloe/Shawn had some chemistry) they get dumped.

They're actually not that poorly received ... there's been a fairly large cry for both of them to be on the canvas, despite what ya'll think about them. Just saying.

Hey, we can always find Charity Rhamer. Maybe she looks younger than Martha Madison, would that make ya'll happy

 lol

I know we rehash ALOT as soap fans, but why is this being rehashed? I don't remember the bitching when they were pop ins. Now they're on contract it's a problem again? I'm so confused. I get liking certain actors in roles and not letting it go. I'll never shut up about Heather Tom/Amelia Heinle as Victoria. To each their own LOL.

What it does tell me: the show isn't interesting enough if we're debating Martha and Brandon STILL. LMAO.

Meanwhile, the show is so poorly produced on top of the whiplash writing ... Albert Alarr can't cut it. The cuts are bad. It's just not produced well at ALL. IMHO. It's just so bad. The sets are bad. Sigh. Almost everything seems to fall flat. The Charlie ending? SOOOO bad. And the followup? LMAO. Lord. A websoap could do better. And these one/two month arcs? Not working. Especially if the characters involved only appear 7 times a month.

She's very very very defensive of the show, which I love her for. Sorry she was such a bitch to you. I can see that with her lol. I do appreciate how loyal she is to the show though.

I know it's probably hard as an actor when fans hate what they're seeing, but the fact is, actors need to understand, we don't always like everything  LOL ... there's a difference between bitching about a story and coming after an actor, which I see a lot of on Twitter and it's disgusting.

@KMan101 MM could take a cue from JY and other script writers I've chatted with who take criticism well and ask why I don't like a story and what can be done to fix it. Hell JY even hoped I'd continue watching his soap even though I wasn't pleased with it. That's class.

    • I loved today's episode....shocker LOL Dani & Andre were so cute and adorable. Vernon trying to cover his tracks with Anita, while holding his own with Leslie. And the pièce de résistance, Eva & Kat. Soooooo goood!!!
    • According to the newspaper columnists at the time of Mark Dante's return, Gerald Gordon had been a favorite of Fred Silverman, who left ABC for NBC and took Gordon with him. Silverman supposedly put him on a contract with NBC. Gordon return to "General Hospital" occurred after Silverman left NBC so Gordon may have been in need of work and he may have left Monty on good terms. His pairing seems very C-story at best based on synopses but maybe there was more to it.
    • I am truly at a loss for words about today's episode. I have no clue what they are trying to do or where this Luna story is going. I was literally dumbfounded.
    • I'm inclined to agree with you and I loved her at Santa Barbara.
    • I haven't watched DAYS in years, so I have some questions for anyone who can answer them. Is the show actually acknowledging that Jeremy abused Stephanie?  The things he did to her back in 2007 were reprehensible.  I wasn't watching too much when that was happening, but I seem to remember that the show (at the time) didn't outright label him an abusive partner and instead acted like he was just badly behaved or something like that.  Could someone who was watching back then tell me how they remember it?
    • It also strangely happened while the story was airing. You had a gothic and spooky story that because it got eyeballs ended up being dragged out and turned into camp. Marlena starts talking to herself constantly with that voice, she’s strapped to the bed for a never ending exorcism, would almost die multiple times during the process, and then everyone would just leave her there with Caroline Brady sitting next to her holding a rosary. Reilly had the show so segregated that when Carrie found out what was happening in practically her next scene she was like I’m praying for Marlena. Now what are we going to do about Sami? I don’t know about anyone else, but I would probably stop my storyline for at least a couple of episodes and have to go see my stepmother that had a huge part in raising me floating around with those eyes in her beautiful penthouse. It was just so stupid, and when it started I didn’t necessarily agree with the story being told, but at least it was taken seriously.
    • Yes, I feel the same way. I get the reasoning behind hiring him. He was playing a very similar character on RH, and they were in a pinch. I also found his accent very distracting. But then, Bev also didn't sound like she was from Illinois, and it didn't bother me a bit. That said, I've always had a great deal of sympathy for the situation he was in. It's never easy to take over from someone popular with fans, and how the TPTB were always insisting he was coming back eventually was another issue. Hearing he was going through it in his personal life on top of that makes me even more sympathetic. I found the article where it mentioned he had worked on both soaps at the same time. This was written a while after he left the show. Interesting that he was open to returning and that fans were asking him about when Alan was going to get out of jail. To this day, I don't understand why they kept Alan off the canvas as long as they did. He should have been there in the thick of Roger's return (without the dumb attempt to kill him), especially while he was married to Alex. To me, Raines was lacking in a lot of qualities needed for Alan. I think he would have been a better Mike Bauer.  They took five years to bring Alan back. They could have found someone better. No one is irreplaceable. Anyone who took over the role would have been different from Bernau. But somewhere out there was an actor who would have had the suaveness, intensity, and charm that IMO the character needed.

    • I did feel like JFP's Y&R was decent. Of all the recent HW/EP swaps, her period was very safe but watchable. Nothing spectacular but better than what we have now.
