Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip), Lucas Adams (Tripp), Emily O'Brien (Gwen), Lindsay Arnold (Allie) and Isabel Durant (Claire) were all upped to contract status today, per today's credits. Also today, Galen Gering (Rafe), Camila Banus (Gabi), Freddie Smith (Sonny), Chandler Massey (Will) and Wally Kurth (Justin) were removed from the contract cast, so the series regular count remains steady at 26 contract actors. Kurth remains with "Days" on recurring status, while Gering and Banus will return to "Days" next month.

Gwen is staying. Thank goodness. Absolute riot. Emily O’Brien has been a fresh of breath air 🤣

(I know what I wrote lol)

I suspect her shelf life is limited, though.

Agreed. I know she wasn't well received during her Y&R run, but I enjoy her.

Glad to see JKJ on contract.

Jana was a pretty annoying character who had wretched writing. She’s very talented. She definitely gives her scenes energy (and is very sexy), which is rare these days.

Great news!

Tripp and Philip are needed on the canvas, and both Gwen and Allie have really given the show the spark that it lacked many times through the first half of the year. As for Claire, I don't have that much a problem with her but we'll see what happens.

Exactly. EOB is terrific in this role, and hopefully (now that there's no longer a 10-month lag between filming and airtime) the writers will see that she's been well-received and make sure to keep her on as a perennial town troublemaker. There's also plenty of opportunity to flesh out her backstory (and maybe connect her to Xander and/or EJ).

Jana was a fun character, but all the rewrites did the character in.  I'm glad she's found a decent role on Days

Happy with all of these although I was still hoping Bryan Datillo may have finally gotten a contract again.

I remember the character having something of a following, alongside the hate, until MAB and friends butchered her to try to prop up Chloe/Kevin. Or whoever the hell was in charge then.
