RIP: In Memoriam Thread

Ironically, I was just talking about Shannen last week with my co-worker and said the same thing. I...just felt it. But she has been so strong, but something told me I should start to brace myself.

The good, the bad, the ugly. Shannen did keep it real for better or for worse which is why I respected her and admired her. There has been so many times in my life growing up I would truly think...what would Brenda do? Cuz her loner vibe with the group during their first year of college on BH resonated through as a teenager dealing with his identity.

I forgot about Nightmare Classic!! But I adored her on Fairy Tale Theater as a kid with her expressive eyes and ethereal vibe. It has been surprising me over the last week how much she has done because I have not heard from her again up until last year. There are definitely films that have been mentioned that I will want to search for to watch her going forward.

Yes. Richard and Dr. Ruth are both memories from my childhood that it just saddens me they are gone. They seem like they would be around forever.

I watched a thriller movie with her where she was stalked by her neighbor. I don't remember the name, but it was a cute movie and she was so stunning. I watched it with my husband just weeks ago.

I talked about Shannen with my mother just two days ago and that I will going to see her at the 90‘s con in September or whenever it was.. I was looking forward to it and wanted to get the chance to see her..

those news came as a shock when I was at work today.. I think the quickest to report on it was NBCNews and NYTimes on my phone.

RIP.. Can’t believe we lost two big 90210 stars in their early 50‘s

Beautifully said. I will miss all those people you mentioned. Shine bright, stars, for they always shone so brightly for us. Shannen is a hard one, because she had that certain quality that made you compelled to watch her (they all did!). I followed her on Instagram, so proud of the woman she became. She never lost her fight. She was feisty even as she showed us her deepest vulnerabilities and fears. RIP, powerful Shannen. And hugssss, my dear friend.

I just read Finola's IG about Shannen. Made me cry. CHARMED, of course.

Day before yesterday SSH made me cry. Did you make it through her zoom interview with Michael Fairman?!!

Yesterday my sweet Westie Ruby gave me lovely dog kisses & that made me cry. But they were good tears.

This is my favorite scene in the history of 90210, it's just perfect, delicious teen soap, from Brandon's knowing but slightly confused look to Brenda's lone wolf strut away from the foolery. I still know the dialogue by heart. "Why are you doing this to me!?" "Because we owe it to you, Bren." #ouch "Look, I hate you both. Never talk to me again!"

The iconic James B. Sikking, best known for Hill Street Blues, Doogie Howser, etc. but also a GH alum (he played Audrey's husband Dr. Jim Hobart), has died after a battle with dementia:

I knew him best from his cameo in The Search for Spock. What a persona.

Thanks for posting about it. I think I knew him best for HSB, where he played a paranoid right wing military fanatic, very typical of the era, and sadly, more common than ever today. There was one episode which ended with him putting a gun to his head, IIRC, which was very startling. As it turned out the next week, the bullets had been removed from the gun by his colleagues without him knowing it.

    • Is there anything in print or fan lore or info about Don Stewart & temperament or behavior? Of course my brain could be playing tricks on me.
    • “On ERICA versus RACHEL, Erica was a very unique character. ... Rachel was a lower-class Erica, her mother was a cleaning woman, and her goals were not nearly stratospheric as Erica’s. Rachel just wanted to marry Russ or somebody with money. What Erica and Rachel have in common is they thought if they could get their dream, they’d be satisfied. But that dream has been very elusive.”– Agnes Nixon, Creator, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ALL MY CHILDREN, and LOVING So my takeaway from this, plus knowing the characters, is that both Rachel & Erica schemed for acquisition. They wanted to acquire romance, husbands, prosperity, a kind of low-level fame or notoriety.  Am I correct in thinking that Carla schemed for safety, camouflage, to keep from getting caught & so for survival? Or did she also scheme for things similar to above?

    • Paula and Jeanne’s first time writing Alex and Stephanie. It didn’t seem like there were any changes in Alex at all lol but I can’t help  but think that that’s more on RSW than the writing. I didn’t see a big change with Stephanie either, but I did enjoy her scenes with Kayla, whose character has gotten so much stronger since last week. I hope we get to see a lot more of their relationship, and their relationship with Steve as well. As for Steve and Shawn stealing the drug to try to save Bo, idk. I don’t dislike it, but I just don’t know lol but I also think that it is time for Steve to pass the torch on to the next hero.  And finally, Javi showed some kind of spark! I was a little worried in his first scene today that he was going to continue to be so obsessed with Leo, but him demanding that Leo drop the investigation into Rafe and Gabi could actually be pretty interesting. I don’t think that would’ve happened under Ron. And if we’re forced to endure Javi/Leo, let them at least have some kind of actual conflict, instead of the forced, biased crap that we were subjected to. And speaking of Leo, one year ago today, he got Dimitri’s letter

Btw, why is Gabi so beholden to Javi? Cousin or not, if I was her, the minute he said to her, “If he goes, I go”, I would’ve been like  Also, are they going to go there with Philip and Gabi? I’d prefer that than Gabi getting involved with Alex.
