Frank power tripping like Irna just to keep his buddy employed. It's sick really.

Speaking of keeping people's buddies employed:  Kale Brown.

The king of the General Hospital staff intercom! All of a sudden GH had countless voice-over bits for on-set TV or hospital stuff, all done by Kale during Jill's run there, for years. IIRC she tried to get him back on camera as a priest or something during a strike storyline in '08 (in which Rick Hearst, another longtime FOJ though talented, took over the show in a lousy storyline), but got blocked there.

Honestly at this point I'm surprised Frank doesn't have Easton on as Finn and as NuDrew.

Honestly I think honor would go to Roger Howarth lol

Hillary B. Smith and Mark Derwin both all but openly dogging Kale Browne by name in Jeff Giles' book always amused me (HBS: "I think Mark and I worked with the same guy. [laughter]")

Kevin McClatchy

Jill Farren Phelps brought him onto AW  after GL -fired Justin Chambers to make room for him. Once Jill left he was out also.

Off to OLTL, too.

(We're all going to be chastised for not showing proper respect to the Daytime Emmys ...)

This one's sad, since she already was a legend, but Linda Dano's return to ABC Daytime?

I don't think she counts since she was already successful on AW.

I was going to name her, but I felt bad.  It was too much.  Same with Robin Christopher's foray on all the ABC soaps

Yeah, she's maybe more appropriate for a failed comebacks thread.

I can't believe no one thus far has mentioned Kelly Sullivan.  Shame, too, since she's a Broadway legend and all.  ;)

Pretty sure Justin had the last laugh on that one. Was Phelps also responsible for bringing in Timothy Gibbs aka Dash from Santa Barbara? I remember all the brouhaha in the soap mags over Phelps “stealing” Gibbs away from AW around the time Amy Carlson was leaving.

Sincerely thought about it..
