Three different white women are sprung for Keith Hamilton Cobb in this 2003 episode! And yet none of them fùcked him AFAIK except maybe Phyllis? Which member of the audience called Homeland Security? I cannot believe they were fobbing Victoria off on Baldwin at this point. She's butcher than he is.

David Lago was so cute. Whatever happened to him? And of course Thad was a dream. I remember when he turned up as a gay for pay escort on nip/tuck buck naked not long after this; I almost died. They need to clean JT up a bit more after what they did to him.

The only one that resonates me with is Bashioum, and she's not coming back. If they had a strong known soap actress in the role I suppose you could reconceive the character, but all the post-Bashioum actresses in the role seem weak or bizarre.

I didn’t enjoy the Mac recasts either, but I saw a lot of growth with KK as an actress with her return, and it made me think of what she could do with a real story. Of course, the bigger issue is whether or not a modern-day Y&R is even capable of that.

I’ve never understood why they struggled to recast Mac. Bashioum was my favorite, and I could only dream about her returning. I would actually watch the show again if she did. I assume they would go back KK if they brought the character back. I didn’t mind her in Bac 2.0, but she’s more of a vanity pick based on how the show is branded nowadays. Maybe she would work in the right dynamics.

I think Bashioum was such a singular presence. It’s hard to really capture what she brought to the role. And the character got so watered-down with all the recasts. But I think she’s been off the canvas long enough (aside from the KK short-term return) to reboot the character a bit if they wanted to. We’d probably not enjoy the end result.

I doubt Josh could write for someone like Mac as portrayed by Ashley B the way the show is currently constructed. She’s too normal for the current audience.

Not sure who uploaded 3/23/01 in the vault, but it doesn’t have any sound. Not sure if this was intentional or not.

Yes that was in 2010 which was another random out of know where scene and I a had always hoped that maybe phyllis would found out it was Christine but it was another missed opportunity.

Nick/Christine were actually hot together i wonder if this was going to be a storyline!

Even though mal had messed up, he did get the Brooks girls along with mac/Raul/britney to appear so i definitely loved that he tried to bring some history back to the show and also he brang back Julia for that one episode.

I looked through the full cast list from my YR 25th Anniversary book published in 1998.  Turns out it is NOT a full cast list, because I was hoping to find out who played Charlie, Victor's butler, but he's not listed anywhere.

The cast list is fairly thorough but has many chronological mistakes. One example is listing Lynn Wood (Allison) as appearing from 1981-83 when it was 1982-84.

What caught my eye the most is that it lists Oscar winner Forest Whitaker as being the first Kong (aka Nathan Hastings) in 1984 before Nathan Purdee. I think this would be late '84... Nov/Dec... Wouldn't that be something if we get a glimpse of Forest as the uploaded '84 clips reach that time!

    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
