Members Soaplovers
According to early reports, if you've had a previous infection, or been vaccinated...if you get the Omicron variant...you will have a mild case like the flu. However, if unvaxxed...well...chances of hospitalization increases. So if vaxxed...relax and enjoy your holiday. If unvaxxed, proceed with caution. Sadly the reverse will happen

Members janea4old
Apparently the first tweet caused a kerfuffle because people misinterpreted it as being anti-vaccine, which it's not. Trevor's intention was simply, maybe the current vaccine will work as a booster, and he asked do they really need to revise/update the vaccine? But he is totally pro-vaccine. If you listen to the whole thing, he says to listen to public health experts. I guess people listened to only the first sentence and then started quoting him out of context. Anyhow, due to the misinterpretation of the first tweet, he posted the second tweet. Edited December 6, 2021 by janea4old
Members janea4old
The idiot FORMER gh actor Ingo was commenting yesterday on his instagram story his approval of Trevor Noah's statement. Obviously he didn't listen to the entirety of Trevor's statement. Just another example of Ingo trying to co-opt/misinterpret things in order to advance his irresponsible agenda.

Members janea4old
Apparently they have been testing wastewater for the COVID-19 virus since spring 2020. It's not new to finding the virus in wastewater. https://news.rice.edu/news/2021/houston-refines-hunt-covid-wastewater The news is that this is the first time the Omicron variant has been found in Houston wastewater. -- and it was discovered there before being diagnosed in any person in Houston. So people have it but don't know it yet. Edited December 8, 2021 by janea4old
Members DramatistDreamer
Yes, I know. The Universities were the first to conduct testing in the U.S., which was already behind other industrialized countries in testing wastewater. I meant that this likely means the Omicron variant is more widespread in the U.S. than is being reported. Delta was turning up in wastewater systems before it became the dominant strain of COVID-19.

Members DramatistDreamer
It's frustrating tbh, to see events repeating, over and over. Hopefully this variant turns out to consist of the mild symptoms that researchers believe.
