GL would have been perfection to lead the way with streaming! They just needed to keep the full cast on hand. And, use the new production model. And do away with sci-fi-like tales. And, park Jeffrey O'Neill and David Andrew MacDonald off the tarmac! And, cut Reva's time back to 2-3 days a week At one point they decided Grant was sucking up too much of the show. But, he really wasn't! It was Kim who was. Kim was using up 4-5 days per week. The rest of the cast couldn't tolerate that much.

I’m a month behind, but is 2/3rds of HTS businesses all still renovating/out of business? Funny to see most of those store front windows covered in brown paper, including the restaurant yet people are still sitting, dining at the tables

I’m guessing a bunch of new businesses will suddenly pop up around Nov. 8th...

I found today's episode lackluster. But it was still better than the last week. I don't know if the restaurant is a new set. Or pieces of old sets cobbled together. But the set didn't look so bad. They even had a nice amount of extras. They even played smooth jazz in the background.  It was nice to see Salemites interacting in a different setting.  It was weird seeing Jenn & Kate  conversing. But it was nice.  Elani are dull as dishwater. So this restaurant has always been in HTS. But this is the first time we see it.

That's her hairstyle, her character's hairstyle, on VeniceTheSeries. I think her character's name is Logan. I like it. It's a lot like her regular hairstyle, like on her Facebook Fan Page. Hmm, seems that it's a new movie she's in. John Wynn's MirrorMirror

Wow...was that an actual new set in today's episode??? I can barely process that. Anything that takes place outside of that blue room is such a nice change of pace. I really wish they could do some sort outside shooting again...like Salem Place in the 90s. It would help the show not feel so claustrophobic in these ultra tiny sets.

Maybe in the minority from what I read, but I'd take Freddie with a little extra meat on him any day.  But, I tend to like more different types of men than the "standard handsome" we get over and over on soaps.

FROM THE VAULT: NON-SOAP DAYTIME RATINGS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM AUGUST 1973 & NOVEMBER 1973:
    • The rape was in 1979 after they were married. Blake was the result of Holly cheating with him while she was married to Ed. I believe she was born in 1975.
    • No. Ed and Holly were married and having problems. She had an affair with Roger and that's when Christina--Blake--was conceived. The rape happened much later, after Holly and Roger were married.
    • Was Blake the product of Roger raping Holly, or did that come after when they were a couple?
    • I really wish we could see that episode...absolutely, my memory could be faulty, it was a very long time ago. I'm not going to contradict what the actors said--there has to be a reason it made them so uncomfortable that they talked about it in the press and complained to TPTB. I think that was the first one where they made the point that they wanted to educate the audience about the subject.
    • I just did with GL and its made me very happy!

Oh yes, trying to get into any soap from scratch starting post-2010 would be hard. I prefer to go back to the good ol' days, before the decline.
    • Can we talk about how iconic the 1994 tornado was on AMC? I was scanning through old episodes last night and came across this episode. The tornado was epic and the storylines/aftermath were so good (Julia's scar/Noah!; Jenny/Ray/Nola/Jesse in heaven with Tad, etc).  For 1994, these special effects and budget for this big event were amazing. 10 out of 10!  The only thing missing is Erica!  I can't recall where Erica was at the time, but I really wish she had been involved in this storyline.

    • On the way to her own engagement party? I've read that the show had trouble getting the audience to sympathize with Rita, but...that seems bizarre. Maybe I can understand the issue with the censors, given that at the time, rape wasn't depicted the way it is now, and marital rape was even less acknowledged.  Wasn't Chris Brooks' rape one of the first honest stories on the subject? I just don't think I could get into a show I didn't have a working knowledge of. I know it's a different era, but I really tried to get into GH once Maura West joined, but it just never jelled.
    • Yes it was! My mom and I convinced my dad to get one. He was--how shall I put this?--on the thrifty side, but one day he came home with one as a surprise. To this day, I'm convinced it fell off a truck. (He knew people with "connections."

) BUT, we had our VCR and we could watch our soaps. That thing lasted forever! It was built like a tank. Even when we got new ones with more features, we kept that one.
