Administrator Toups Posted April 28, 2022 Administrator Share Posted April 28, 2022 They’re up 18% today as of this post, so investors liked the report.
Members DramatistDreamer
Twitter just may be staring down that same future with Bozo Elon at the helm. As dynamic as Twitter interactions can be, it's never been known as a moneymaker. Hopes Musk loses his investment, that's assuming the deal even goes through. Who knows? Maybe they might make up the shortfall after all. But they're still at a loss in the profit margin.
Members DramatistDreamer
Meta recovered some profits, yet lost users? Were they real users or just bots, like what often happens on Twitter? Which projection is the real one? I guess only time will tell.

Members Khan
I'm just glad that, barring any changes to our constitution, Elon Musk can never run for president.
Members Vee
As much as I detest the WH Correspondents' Dinner, it seems Trevor Noah of all people got some good burns in: And:
Members janea4old
Please register in order to view this content Biden's speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Fyi for context: Earlier at the same dinner, there were several different tributes: *A tribute to Alice Dunnigan and Ethel Payne, who were the first Black women in the White House press corps. *An "in memoriam" video honoring all the journalists from around the world who have died reporting in Ukraine. *The university students who just received journalism scholarship awards from the White House Correspondents' Association. Biden references these tributes in his speech. Biden's speech starts out with some dull jokes. At one point, in all seriousness, Biden said he was stunned that CBS had hired Mick Mulvaney (and then made a joke about that) The best part of Biden's speech, by far, is the latter part, starting at the 7-minute mark, where he talks about the importance of serious journalism (and satire). Members Khan
I'm sure Chuck went home afterward, stood naked in front of his mirror and reminded himself that he was good enough and smart enough "and doggone it! People like me!".
Members DramatistDreamer
TBH, I wasn’t in the mood to watch the WHCD last night but perhaps I might watch the replay (or not) today?
Members janea4old
Tribute to Alice Dunnigan and Ethel Payne, who were the first Black women in the White House press corps. The first part of Gayle King's speech is off-topic rambling, which you can ignore. The tribute starts at 2:35.
Members Khan
Actually, you could always ignore pretty much anything Gayle says.
Members DramatistDreamer
CBS Mornings, the show that Gayle co-hosts did a profile piece on Dunnigan and Payne and it was pretty good. They spoke to relatives who helped to tell their stories.
Members DRW50
Once I saw that he made a jab about Afghanistan (which for all the talk of media criticism, is exactly what they would have done), I decided not to bother. I really don't like Trevor Noah anyway.
