February 26, 20197 yr Member I mean, they're inspired by Angelica McDaniel's family - so unless someone higher-up intervenes and squashes her plans, they're going to continue to be force-fed.

I’m trying to remember if there are any other examples of a network exec imposing themselves on a soap in such a personal way, as in the creation of a total new family based on their own. We always hear of execs living vicariously through certain characters or basing casting decisions on their libidos. Edited February 26, 20197 yr by Faulkner
February 26, 20197 yr Member JFP used to make various women on OLTL (Hillary B. Smith, Florencia Lozano) get their hair styled like hers while pairing them with Kale Browne (her RL lover) and another longtime fave John Bolger, among others.
February 27, 20196 yr Member On tomorrow's show according to soaps.com day ahead recap, it is revealed that Kyle is not a match for Lola. He will have Mariah show up to the hospital with GC Buzz and Kyle will plead for a donor to help Lola on air. Arturo will confront Kyle about this, but Kyle will say there is nothing he wouldn't do for Lola. Arturo will end up thanking Kyle and letting Kyle visit with Lola. On Thursday's episode Devon will make his sacrifice. With Kyle now being ruled out as a match, I really do think the donor may end up being Devon. If not him maybe Summer. And Rey will promise to keep Mia's "pregnancy" a secret. He doesn't want Mia to have the baby in prison and he believes what happened to Lola was an accident. He promises to keep the secret of Mia being the attacker forever. He will say that he thinks the baby is a sign that he and Mia should work things out as a couple but that forgiveness will take time. He says he wants everyone to know about the baby, but Mia says it's too early to tell people. He will agree to keep the secret about the baby for now. Also on tomorrow's episode, Summer will tell Nick she knows what Phyllis and the rest of the ladies did to JT. She will tell Nick she understands and wants him to as well. Nick will not want to hear anymore. And the trial for the Sharon, Nikki and Victoria will begin. Brittney will tell Sharon she is representing her only and Victoria will ask Michael if Nikki should take the stand. Michael will say that Christine will eviscerate them if she does, because they lied. He wants to get them acquitted. Billy, Jack, and Victor will show up to the courtroom to support the ladies. Nick and Summer will also show up. Christine will enter and will tell the Jury that JT didn't deserve to die in the manner he did and that Nikki killed him why the other ladies concealed it. Victor will stand up and say that Christine has a vendetta against the Newman family, he will be removed from the courtroom. Christine will say she will show the video of the ladies moving and burying the body. Michael will argue the video isn't proof they moved the body and that there isn't proof there is a body. The court will have a recess and Sharon will tell Brittany she is worried about Mariah being dragged into things. Edited February 27, 20196 yr by xtr
February 27, 20196 yr Member So Rey, who supposedly has a strong sense of right and wrong is now lying to protect his wife. Just waiting for JT to show up in the courtroom. Will he be charged with faking his own death?

I didn't know he was her lover. Is that why the Rappaports took over Llanview? I admit to loving Sam and Nora Hannon Gannon Buchanan. 9 hours ago, Faulkner said: They (the Rosaleses) probably got eaten up in that survey CBS prompted during broadcast. Now you know they did.

That and populating the show with many of her other past faves from other shows, including Mark Derwin, Bolger, Tim Gibbs, Robin Christopher, etc. HBS detested the story with Sam and the cabana and tried to get killed off over it. Several folks at OLTL made their dislike of Kale Browne known over the years, and HBS and Derwin both later (much later) alluded to not being his biggest fans in Jeff Giles' OLTL oral history Llanview in the Afternoon. The instant JFP left for GH, ABC fired him. As soon as Jill went to GH, Kale got voice-over work there. He became the voice of the suddenly-omnipresent intercom at GH, any in-show TV announcements, any recast voice-overs, etc. She attempted to get him onscreen in an aborted story during the writers' strike in the late 2000s IIRC, but that failed. February 27, 20196 yr Member I know she wanted him to play a priest in a mob story with Sonny, but I wasn't aware the character ever aired.

February 27, 20196 yr Member That's the ongoing issues soaps have with characters in law enforcement. How are these types of characters ever expected to be impartial when they're either dealing with a friend or enemy? Edited February 27, 20196 yr by BetterForgotten
February 27, 20196 yr Member I hate how cold they’ve made Cricket...not saying she was always exactly warming and loving but she at least had personality and not this harsh demeanor she’s had the last few years..
