They are too old to let their old feuds affect the show. Valerie was such a huge part of the original I’d want to see her in some capacity and Brenda is a MUST. And when I say must I mean she needs to be full time. If you expect me to stare at Tori Spelling and god knows if she can still act, the star better be there.

Lmao!!! I agree but I did love Donna in those early years! She was a fun comedic side character. She only suffered when they made her into the heroine all the guys fell over. Although I will say I had a soft spot for Tori. She did some good comedies after leaving the show and her Lifetime movies are iconic. But he now? I just can’t imagine.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as a new concept? Aren't we in the midst of shows being "rebooted" simply as revivals/continuations/sequels catching up with the characters we already know and love? It actually doesn't surprise me at all that 90210 would come back in this form. I guess I'm just surprised that so many of the cast has signed on for it, including JP (with whom I am still madly in love).

My heart LIVES for the possibility of seeing 70ish Cindy Walsh just as dorky and as bland as ever!

I can't recall if Kathleen Robertson has spoken on the show in the last 20 years, lol. I loved Claire at first but they did her wrong in Season 7.

(Another sidenote: Emma Caulfield/Susan Keats deserved a longer run. I can't recall if it's true that the show wanted her to stay; I suspect that's just a pipe dream. I was so thrilled when she turned up on Buffy)

Reposting these great staff interviews: A two-parter with EP Charles Rosin (part 1 and part 2) and another with producer/writer Larry Mollin.

Well, Emma was apparently miserable on the show and the female cast members pretty much frooze her out.

By the way, it doesn't look like this is a proper "reboot" as such, but possibly them playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

Both Emma Caulfield (Susan) and Jason Wiles (Colin) were promoted to "Also Starring" status in the middle of season 6 (Wiles two episodes before Emma, if I remember correctly) so I think both were supposed to become regulars at a later point. In season 5, both Jamie Walters and Kathleen Robertson were credited as "Also Starring" before becoming regulars in season 6.

They completely destroyed Susan's and Colin's characters only two or three episodes before the season 6 finale so them being written out probably was a rather quick decision.

UHM WHAT????

https://www.etonline.com/beverly-hills-90210-reboot-in-the-works-with-the-og-cast-and-a-surprising-twist-116248

There are some new developments regarding the long-rumored reboot of the beloved teen melodrama Beverly Hills, 90210, and it might throw some fans for a loop.

ET has learned CBS Television Studios is developing an "untraditional reboot," that will include some of the original Beverly Hills, 90210 cast. However -- and here's the nontraditional part -- the actors "are not reprising their original characters."

A source familiar with the production tells ET that crew members spotted with the cast yesterday are former writers from 2008's 90210 reboot. It's unclear at this time what exactly that means, and the development raises several questions:

-Will the returning stars play the parents of their former characters?

Ummm......

Wow.

It does sound interesting, I'm not gonna lie, but...

Listen, bitches: It's 18/19 years later. The Gang has gone through a lot but still have friendships/relationships with each other. They have kids and a few more new teenagers are a major part of the show. We play catch up with some major things that happened during the 18 years off, plus a bunch of new developments.

We simply pick up their lives almost two decades later. Get introduced to a new crop of teens. It's not that difficult. Jesus Christ.

Yeah, the 'spoofing/playing themselves' concept news has already been around for a year. That's not what the recent story alleged, though, so it remains to be seen if that original idea is still in the mix, or if the above ET link is merely regurgitating the original news from months ago for clickbait. (Daily Mail definitely just repurposes old stories and is extremely unreliable)

Personally, I hope not; it won't work.

As for Jason Wiles, Colin was never intended to be longterm according to the above interviews. They began dirtying him up pretty fast with drugs. Susan, I have no idea.

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!
