You're absolutely correct. In fact, people here would be praising him. I don't agree with Rep. Waters words or suggestions of violence, but mocking someone's looks does not add anything to the conversation. Honestly, if WH is that immature, then I'm glad he's not on the show.

Anyway, on a B&B note. Has the show done any remotes this year? I can't recall any non-LA location shoots. It's truly the one thing where B&B excels - the other soaps aren't even players compared to them.

Like I said, I'm not defending Winsor, and I haven't being following whatever else he has said or tweeted. It's just not that uncommon for people to criticize when politicians/actors/etc they like are being subjected to ridicule on social media, while having no problem with politicians/actors/etc they don't like being subjected to the same ridicule. That's all I meant to say.

I'm certainly not defending anyone being racist, and that includes Winsor Harmon.

Yeah, a white man comparing an African American woman to a monster is never going to be the same as people mocking Trump's looks (which I've never done because there is so much else to go after).  The power dynamics and cultural context are completely different. I would have thought that was obvious.

I've been watching a lot of old B&B clips lately and wow is this Steffy/Liam/hope drama a copy and paste of all the crap Brooke/Ridge/Taylor went through. The dialogue might as well be lifted from their scenes.

Making the show only about that triangle highlights that the show was never only about those three or whatever romantic entanglement was keeping Brooke and Ridge apart. We had Stephanie and a plethora of other plots going on too. I think this show desperately needs a commanding presence like Susan Flannery's to keep things moving and Bill is not it. Don Diamont is a handsome man but he's not a very good actor.

I think Brooke could have filled Stephanie's place as the matriarch if Brad Bell had let her grow up and assume that position. (Or maybe it's KKL who doesn't want to let go of the romantic storylines for fear of being seen as old). Naturally she wouldn't have been able to replace Stephanie completely and she would have been a different type of matriarch, but I think it could have worked.

It's ridiculous that Brooke has had the same motivations and instincts since her first episode. i get character consistency, that's great, a throughline but this is just lazy. It just doesn't make sense that she's experienced basically zero growth in 30 years.

You need to look at Winsor's posts back for months.  There arent' enough erasers to get rid of the entitled, white, out-of-touch racism.  I was shocked when I went to his Twitter page and started reading.  Not a nice person.  But very haughty.  Loves to use the word "Blessed" alot with alot of not-very-nice opinions.  But he's blessed.  And so is everyone who agrees with his bullshi*.

    • Yeah I saw it and it's still idiotic. I like the Pope, but it's not interrupt shows newsworthy
    • As someone who was watching OLTL at the time, Dano did excellent work, but the writing was weird. Dano even got Emmy nominated for what she did. However, it did feel that the writers did not know what to do with her, but to be fair, it did feel like a lot of that was that the character was a network mandate and the writers were making it up as they were going on. I didn't watch Dano's trek around all the soaps. That kind of thing would have worked better with an ABC performer not someone who had been off OLTL for decades. I can't imagine AW without Felicia Gallant. I really don't want to because she provided so much joy for me when there was so much disappointment on that show. The only time I thought her character didn't work was the John/Felicia storyline but it got Anna Holbrook an Emmy so I can't complain all that much. It's just another example of drama at the expense of character.
    • Bringing this over from the soccer/soaps ratings thread yesterday:  Errol said: "CBS put out a notice that it could preempt at a moment's notice as the Pope selection continues, dependent on how long it takes, of course." New pope just chosen, name to be announced soon. Yeah CBS-NewYork channel 2 is airing Pope coverage instead of Y&R right now.
    • @brisbydog - I like that you have a signature font, très chic Abe and Paulina's new apartment was the first thing I noticed.  I don't understand why people over a certain age in Salem automatically move into a condo? When it seems just as simple to make the set seem like a detached home.  But, I will give points to attention to detail of choosing colors that compliment the Black actors in the scene. Which then led to the second thing I noticed.  Why would EJ want Kayla's office, when his is 3xs the size?  Also, even if he buys the hospital, won't Kayla get to keep her office? Lastly, can we at least give Cat the agency to decide on her own with whom she wishes to date?  Do men actually need to negotiate on her behalf?  She's stunning.  My advice would be if Chad is friend-zoning her after a year together, move on to his richer brother.
    • OH!!! I love it. I can't believe I missed that. In one of the 2 fan events held the 2 years after the sorry end of our lovely show, both  Anna Stuart & Stephen Schnetzer attended & I got to talk to each of them. Obviously I was in heaven. Although at least I didn't do my shy star struck thing.
    • We probably won't get any of our CBS soaps today cause of the Pope stuff, cause you know they have to air it on regular network despite having 24/7 news channels

    • I still don't know when/how did Iris find out about Evan's connection to Janice?
    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to some of the nicest members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
