Which is a shame, in a way, because I thought "CBS This Morning" really had something going with him, Norah O'Donnell and (yes, even) Gayle King.

Norah and Gayle were deeply shaken delivering that story this morning, but glad that they were clear in saying that they believed the women who spoke out (and Charlie himself didn't deny it). Julie Chen on The Talk (herself a CBS News alum) was visibly upset when that topic was brought up this afternoon.

On a side note, I asked my mom today if she had heard about Charlie Rose. She hadn't. After I told her, she said that she wouldn't be surprised if the only male left at PBS who hasn't harassed a woman is Big Bird!!

The Washington Post has been killing it with this story. Smart that they've taken down the paywall for it. Maybe they'll get some new subscribers out of this.

Roy Moore and his ilk give true, God-fearing people who genuinely love Jesus such a bad name.

For the record, the man who I thought was my friend was over 20 years older than I. He cornered and propositioned me in his home not 30 minutes after Sunday services and after we had both taken communion.

Adding insult to injury:

That one's a shame. I always liked him on Melrose Place, and had a new respect for him after the HBO Scientology expose.

Insiders say Beghe’s explosive temperament has been an issue over P.D.’s nearly four-year run and that the investigation opened last year was long overdue. One source told of incidents of stunts and other altercations with Beghe that got far too physical and left actors injured.

Yikes. I don't think this is the first time recently someone has complained about an actor injuring them from being too aggressive with stunts. Between this and the whole thing with Dylan O'Brien's bad injuries I am starting to wonder if someone is going to clamp down on the mentality of actors wanting to do their own stunts or being pushed into doing their own stunts to save a few bucks.

Did we leave out the women's Olympic team and their allegations of sexual abuse by the team doctor?

Raisman

Maroney

Douglas

All allege Dr. Nassar molested them during physicals.  The deets are pretty despicable.  He denies the charges but will more than likely change his plea before trial.  He's currently serving time for possessing child porn!

Charlie Rose fired!

On top of that, I just read that PBS and Bloomberg will no longer distribute his show.  IOW, Charlie Rose's career is over.

This is all starting to remind me of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" and the recurring, off-stage sound of trees being chopped down and cleared ("the sound of a string breaking," as it's written in one translation) as the family who owns the orchard realizes (or doesn't realize) their entire way of life is disappearing.  Whenever another notable gets exposed as a sexual predator, it's like hearing another string break.

ETA: I'm hearing that CBS is looking to Oprah to fill Rose's chair on "CBS This Morning," if only temporarily.

I heard about the CBS offer to Winfrey as well.  According to sources on Twitter, they are begging Ope to come on board.  I hope she does it but as a stipulation in the contract, is allowed to name her replacement.
