That's interesting. Bill Bell said in an interview that he wished he had bought Television City when they first started doing Y&R in 1973. He said at that time there wasn't a whole lot there in way of construction and could have gotten at a steal.

CBS is landlord to Y&R and B&B, so they'll either switch landlords by a sale to another company that keeps the television operation or they'll find a new studio.

Y&R could have the option to move to Sony Studios in Culver City. There's also CBS Studio Center at Radford in Studio City. There's probably a lot of cast members who would prefer to work out of Radford since they live in the Valley. Conversely, Brad Bell would probably hate it driving from Bel-Air.

That said, CBS Television City is an iconic space.

I don't know. He stated that in his Archive Of American Television interview he wish he had purchased it in the early 70's. I know a lot of shows were being taped there even then like Y&R, Carol Burnett, Price Is Right, Tattletales, Match Game, Jokers Wild, My Three Sons etc...

It would not have made a lick of difference.

CBS has say because it's the network the show is sold to. Sony has a say because it produces the show. It could be taped on Venus and it wouldn't make a difference.

All it would have done is made Bill Bell even richer than he already was when he died. The Bells are richer than Croesus!

Instead of writing 50 words you could've just said, "I don't know."  So, thanks, for wasting my time.  I was hoping by the end there would've at lease something of substance.

I wonder if he would've wound up buying the distributor though.  THAT is where things would've been different.

It's actually 44. I promise to try to make my posts have more substance, if you promise to stop fighting against mental health.

I like your new profile pic. It's so much classier than the shirtless one of you showing your pubes.

    • Can we talk about how iconic the 1994 tornado was on AMC? I was scanning through old episodes last night and came across this episode. The tornado was epic and the storylines/aftermath were so good (Julia's scar/Noah!; Jenny/Ray/Nola/Jesse in heaven with Tad, etc).  For 1994, these special effects and budget for this big event were amazing. 10 out of 10!  The only thing missing is Erica!  I can't recall where Erica was at the time, but I really wish she had been involved in this storyline.

    • On the way to her own engagement party? I've read that the show had trouble getting the audience to sympathize with Rita, but...that seems bizarre. Maybe I can understand the issue with the censors, given that at the time, rape wasn't depicted the way it is now, and marital rape was even less acknowledged.  Wasn't Chris Brooks' rape one of the first honest stories on the subject? I just don't think I could get into a show I didn't have a working knowledge of. I know it's a different era, but I really tried to get into GH once Maura West joined, but it just never jelled.
    • Yes it was! My mom and I convinced my dad to get one. He was--how shall I put this?--on the thrifty side, but one day he came home with one as a surprise. To this day, I'm convinced it fell off a truck. (He knew people with "connections."

) BUT, we had our VCR and we could watch our soaps. That thing lasted forever! It was built like a tank. Even when we got new ones with more features, we kept that one.

Blasphemy!  (Haha, I get it.  But, you should try watching AMC! 80s-90s was so good.)
    • I thought about saying how I resented the fact that those two newbies were tripping up the Puppetmaster of all Puppetmasters, when the best others could do was a stalemate (or less...). But, well...*sigh*
    • I read years ago that both Zaslow and Lenore both complained that it came off as a seduction because of CBS censors, so Lenore asked if she could say, "you raped me" to leave no doubt with the audience, and that Zaslow insisted that Holly's rape played realistically
    • Wow it’s official, Gatwa is out… https://www.avclub.com/ncuti-gatwa-addresses-doctor-who-finale-statement DW fandom on Reddit is in a furor over how things went down and apparent last minute scrapping of the original ending. Also…Billie Piper again really?
    • He comes pretty close, talkin' about how Reva is full of love and joy, blah blah....which is bilge considering he was the one responsible for throwing her out of Josh's life over working with Alan.
    • Just watched the episode concerning Olivia's drug use and Abby's persistence, etc. Donna Mills did stellar work in this episode, as did Tonya Crowe and Brian Austin Green (Brian).
    • But by Dinah and Hart...Hart especially looked as if he could not tie his own shoes!  Ed, Holly, Alan, Alex Henry and Vanessa among others were not able to put Roger down....Dinah???
