Stavros/Mikkos/ Cassadine: you are always trying to get my attention, glomming onto my every  "in the know" scoop I post or astute soap critique i share with the masses on this board.  You just want me like all the mens in Monticello: Derek Mallory, Elliot Dorn, Sky Whitney, even Mike Karr wanted me - that's why Nancy got rid of the twin beds.  Well, get in line!

and you something KMan? I've seen bad Days before.....but if we combined a greatly diminished budget with bad acting and GOD-AWFUL writing and horrible storytelling, this is the absolute worst I have ever seen it. If Ron and Shelley fail, of Corday does one of his mass firings and screws up this show one more time....IMPO, it's done by next year.

You know, it's like these EPers who keep hiring JFP, Pratt, and awful EPs and HWs like them don't understand one thing.....if you tell good, compelling stores and stay consistent, the ratings will go up. after 40 years of soap watching, I'm SICK of stunt writing just to bring up ratings for a short time.

I've seen the show be bad too but not this awful. I'd take Tomsell over this [!@#$%^&*]. LOL. And some thought MarDar were bad ... lol.

I'm tired of the recycling of writers and producers too.

Sheri and Ron have a lot of work to do. And I don't know that bringing people back from the dead is a solution they need to be doing right off the bat. Sami, Will and probably EJ. It's nice to get returns but that's all the switch in regimes ever does. We get returns that don't last, we lose people ... it's wash rinse and repeat.

It truly is. The only reason IMPO to bring back EJ is for him to lead the DiMeras. other than that, he can stay dead. Then we know about Will. and I TRULY agree....all these HW changes seem to be "bring these characters back from the dead to do an umbrella story so i can fire them again and blame everyone else but me (KC) for the God awful state my parents' show is in". makes my ass chap.

    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

Y&R posted same photos on facebook  (fb post link) Y&R did a youtube with individual messages from their cast: Heartfelt and fun from Peter Bergman, Beth Maitland, Eileen Davidson, Tracey Bregman, Joshua Morrow, and Eric Braeden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdFxgA7gPcY Stephanie Sloane interviewed Diamont for tvinsider/tvguide. This interview includes his time at DAYS. Short version of interview was in TVGuide print magazine earlier in May. • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point
