Question--I thought Jabot was only a cosmetic empire? Why are they investing in building labs or whatever Jack is planning on doing?

Also, they can't put up small set to represent a photo studio? I thought it was so freaking weird seeing Lily and that new chick pulling out clothes in a lab filled with chemicals. That's not even safe if we're being realistic.

Can they just scrap this Beauty of Nature bulls--t, and have Victor reacquire this subsidiary, so Ashley can get back her lab? Like seriously.

Whatever. Regardless, Victor needs to take it back, and Victoria needs to take her ass back to Newman where the real story is: Victoria v. Abby.

There needs to be infighting at Jabot too, which is where Billy needs to be. Billy & Ashley ought to join forces to overthrow Jack with Jill getting involved too.

And Cane/Lily can either pick one of the two companies OR go join Devon with his new company, which I feel should be Chancellor Enterprises. Why not just allow Devon to gain his birthright? I think it is pointless in them having him build a new conglomerate when he can just take over Katherine's and appoint Neil to run it alongside him.

That's why I feel like they should've just given Chancellor to Devon. The audience is use to Chancellor, Jabot, and Newman. All these other companies are too much. When Tucker was on the show, I didn't give a f-ck about McCall Unlimited b/c I felt he should've just came in and simply snatched Chancellor from Kay.

All these damn companies with no corporate intrigue at all.

Jill owns Chancellor Industries. Why would Devon want it he's not a Chancellor? The love Jill's life was Phillip Chancellor, and we just found out Katherine knew Phillip truly loved Jill from the beginning. Jill had the Chancellor heirs. She has the emotional connection to it and the only who has truly cared about it.

Devon barely knew Katherine. Yes he's her grandson by blood, but even when Kay was alive it's not like Kay & Devon were spending time together bonding. Chancellor Industries doesn't mean anything to him. Kay gave him the money to buy anything he wants. If blood is so important to who owns a company then shouldn't Devon be preparing to take over his bio-dads company McCall Unlimited? That would be more of his legacy than another man's company, is what Chancellor is

He's Katherine's grandchild, and the company became more of hers than it was the actual Chancellors. You don't see Phillip or Chance eager to obtain, so Devon should run it.

Giving it to Jill is moot b/c this show doesn't know what they wanna do with Jill. Jill can have a high position in the company, like COO, but Devon should be the CEO and it can be used to provide plenty of story for the Winters.

In the REAL Y&R, Devon might have Kay's CI shares...and Jill would be pissed that Kay stuck it to her and her offspring ("Phillip's RIGHTFUL heirs!!") one last time from beyond the grave.

This isn't about race. You want it to be because it makes you automatically right, but you are not. Pick any white character as Kay's blood grandson and I'd be saying the exact same thing. The only difference is that no one would be defending the new white grandson. Nobody was defending Tucker regarding Chancellor and he was her son..

No cares if it was Phillip's company or that Kay murdered him. When most Y&R fans think of Chancellor Industries, it is synonymous with Katherine, and she made it the success it became.

Again, Chance nor Phillip wanted the company. Phillip wanted to hide in Australia and run a damn bar, and Chance wanted to serve in the military.

Devon should run the damn company with Neil and Jill overseeing things, and Jill secretly wanting to regain power. Jill having it brings no conflict to the canvas at all at the moment.

B/c all the Black characters on this show are just window dressing like we tend to be on most soaps. Sucks b/c I feel like Devon and Hilary is where the money is at. This show should to centering it around them.

    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.

    • Where did I say that you weren't allowed to say anything? Personally I just find "disgusted" a very strong word, and not something I would use for such a trivial matter as a song contest. You obviously do, and that's your prerogative, just as it is mine to disagree.
