December 26-30, 2016: All Soaps Get Holiday Bump in Total Viewers

I'll never understand why soaps don't have stories culminate during Christmas week to entice people to keep watching when they know they have more eyeballs on the shows. Why do we stuck with boring ass holiday episodes where everyone is fake nice to each other?

+1

While I do like it when they pull off a nice "Christmas miracle" and include heartwarming moments (if they feel real and genuine), I completely agree. Instead of taking the holidays off, they should use them to build the audience. Make it an event, as long as its good.

The big bump should actually come this week!  I've noticed that the spanish soap operas got bumps this week in the ratings.

Thanks for the catch, guys.  The weekly averages are done by Nielsen so either they screwed up or ABC/CBS did by not notifying Nielsen to code Friday's episode as 'special'.

Good job in your response, Toups.

Every since ABC had that ratings 'snafu' a few years ago, they've been suspect, in my book. They have a tendency to do numbers manipulation when it comes to Nielsen figures.

Soapsuds if DAYS gets cancelled viewers can flock to GHGTV. All we can say is welcome to a new way of TV watching. U will be thrilled, exhilarated and riveted to your seat. Queen Passanante and Alrman will take on a magic carpet ride for a whole new world.

DAYS viewers won't flock anywhere. They will lapse and GH will continue down the road to cancellation, despite your continued falsehoods about GH's ratings.

Ain't nobody going to flock to Mob Hospital. Just like Days, GH is another soap running on fumes and borrowed time.

Those moments feel so damn fake especially on GH where they tend to highlight the worst fakest families
