Why, DRW50, I had no idea you missed me! lol

Looks like GH is on my DVR temporarily. I do hope KS is all right. She's had some health issues in the past and stuff off camera, so maybe she just needs a bit of time to recharge.

And yes, I am a fan of Molly, but I didn't think it was THAT obvious.:lol: (Don't worry, everyone, I am a sane person. lol)

Neither one is a contract thing really. Tyler's just happened to fall in the middle of contract talk and Kirsten's situation is unavoidable. They basically had to recast them. Maxie is about to be in the middle of a story with like five other people and Nikolas is the centre of a story involving like 13 people on the show already and that they're bringing people back for. They either were going to have to scrap the two stories and we'd have months full of thrilling Julian and Alexis rubbish or they recast and hope for the best.

I remember mostly because I also sort of liked Molly's work at times (when she had the right material). And because I enjoyed your posts about various soaps (DAYS, SB, etc.).

I do hope everything is OK with Kristen. It seems like she's always having problems. Best of luck to her.

It's odd how GH and DAYS trade actresses this way, especially for temp recasts (Martha Madison as Liz, Alicia Leigh Willis for Chloe scenes that never aired).

Danica Stewart cannot act and Robyn Richards hasn't played the role since she was maybe 15 and I believe is out of the business. I don't know why people say some of these things.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
