Sonny dominating/leading GH would not be so bad if he weren't such a weak rancid character.  Mo can't carry a story so other characters have to be sacrificed to get thru it.  Not interesting at all.  Sonny is a disgusting pathetic excuse for a man and I can't stand what's become of Carly, Michael & Morgan in the name of that piece of garbage!

Maurice sells aa Sonny has been here since 1993. Labine used Sonny alot as well as Guza. Funny Ron never saw use for him in his campy TV. Honestly smart to refocus ob a vet with vets. What was killing GH was so much Kiki, Denise, Nina, Silas abd Franco. Characters that audience didn't care about. We plunged to all time lows and now the bleeding has stopped.

What the show needs to go back to for "glory days" isn't "Sonny's Hospital" where peope keep propping and genuflecting at his hospital bed.  Port Charles used to be a community, with multiple A,B,and C stories at the same time...If you didn't like one, but liked another, there was always something to watch...Now it's either Jake Dough or Sonny.Or Ava.ZZZZZz...The "B" stories...Maxi/"Woodstick"/Dillon/Lulu/Valerie are dull, and now Tracey is barely on at all.  Anna/Sloane...yawn.  The show needs someone to come in, cause a disaster, mix up the canvas, drop unnecessary characters(looking at you Jillian,Franko,Nina,Kaka, Woodstick  for starters) and give the characters something better to do than talk about the "Mob"...

 

As for the vets...I can remember Steve, Audrey,Jessie, Dan, Ruby,Gail and Lee still getting airtime, sometimes for recapping, but sometimes in actual scenes...If you are reading"Jelly"...look it up on Youtube   the canvas has room for ALL of the characters, not just Sonny/Jake... It can be done if you try...

This whole scene with the Corinthos attacking Ava is hilarious. Everything they threw at her applies to their thug of a father. It wasn't that long ago both Morgan and Michael disowned him but now want to put him on some pedestal as a saint like he also doesn't murder people for a living and gets off with no consequences. At the end of the day Ava is Avery's mother not Carly and she has rights. When is the last time Carly even mentioned her own daughter Jossyln?? Michael is the biggest joke of them all making empty threats.

It's beyond ridiculous that we are watching a show where Sonny is the better parent when he's done EXACTLY what Ava has done!  This is what Daytime has come down to?

I almost didn't make it through that scene. This "smart" writing is dumb as [!@#$%^&*]. Asking the audience to ignore everything the character of Sonny has done, including coming to kill Ava, is not smart tv. It's insulting to anyone with a brain not named Jonny.

And how many times has Sonny done it? Ava has only done it once….Sonny is a mob boss for gawd sakes…..who would give him custody of his children?

Sonny [!@#$%^&*] up and a character is destroyed to make him not look like POS.  This time, they are taking down the entire Corinthos clan to unsoil that piece of trash!

Why does Dillon's movie look like cheap porno? is this the smart tv JOHNNYSBRO is always going on and on ad nauseam about? The Corinthos family drama centering on King Scrummy's lastest shooting is nauseating.  Another boring as hell episode i could barely watch is finally over. Oh gross Nina and Franco are back tomorrow after disappearing for weeks without any explanation  Guy's was this still RC's material or have Jelly's material started?

Well, I liked certain characters that were brought back, and certain story IDEAS, maybe not the actual "story" (which Ron often lacked), and Ron gave us little substance at times. So, a co-HW could have balanced him, and Frank shouldn't let everyone run wild while he probably tries playing Mr. "everybody loves Frank" Nice Guy. I guess I liked the potential of Ron, more than what he actually delivered, if that makes sense.

 

And yeah, it did turn back towards Sonny when he killed AJ. I guess I just saw more balance at the time, even still.

PREACH. I was coming here to post just that, more or less, lol. My eyes could not have rolled further in my head if I tried as Ava was treated like evil incarnate by the Corinthos thugs and the Pod called Carly. I love how Carly's history is glossed over and Sonny is treated like some hero. I mean, if TJ going on and on and on about Sonny his hero wasn't any indication of the direction this was all going ... and where the hell has Jordan been? Oh, she has color. She's so far off of Jelly's radar.

I'd have no problem with Sonny being on if it wasn't all about him, how his mobster ass is some hero and how everyone falls at their feet for him, and those who don't are the devil. I didn't bitch that much about Sonny when Ron had six gazillion "stories" going on. I think Sonny could be used effectively and well, but Mo has become beyond bored and terrible and Sonny should have never come back to the show after leaving Brenda at the altar. Hell, Sonny should have been in that limo that exploded and killed that thing he called his wife.

Because it is cheap porno and they have an actor who should be in porn attempting to act? Though he wasn't as awful as Paevey continues to be.

 

I'm wondering about the material too. I'd have to imagine a lot was cut and September was a transition month. Could make sense as it was nothing but Sonny-hospital (and Ava) and Jake. With a side of Dillon's movie. Literally nothing else is happening. It's no wonder I'd rather watch Maura West and Ava than anyone else on the show at the moment.

Just finished watching the scene that was interrupted earlier on with Ava/Avery/Paul. I really like this Paul..something about his fine ass. Avery meet your new daddy.

I think over the last three years I have been consistent in saying I preferred Ron's campy GH over Guza's mob GH.  Nina and Franco were killing the show, but the near cancellation of GH before them shows Sonny and Jason were slowly killing GH before that.  It was only during the period when Ron concentrated on non mobular stories starring characters not part of the Corinthos family that ratings rose, be it with vampires, rubber masks, or psychic powers.   Heather Webber, Robin and her parents, Faison, Caleb and Lucy...all that stuff was fine by me.  Watching mobsters discuss territory sucked in 2003 and it sucks now.

Actually before Guza got fired the ratings didn't sink as bad but when Wolf took over they sank. Honestly Guza had his talented days. At the time Jill needed to go aa exec producer. Going back to basics has brought the ratings up. They never plunged so low with the Nina pimping galore. Jelly is creating a cable show that kind of David Chase meets Shonda Rhimes. Jean channels Shonda in those sexy romantic scenes.
