Couldn't they have picked a far better route to "reignite a rivalry"? Good Lord. Just the fact that Jack new Gabriel was Adam all this time and was helping him to worm his way back into the Newmans' lives should have been enough to get that rivalry going again.

One would think, right? I guess that would be too logical.

Instead, Y&R chooses the old fallback of Jack and Victor trying to outmacho each other in another round of who is more virile?

I'm really hoping Victor still thinks this is Marco he's talking too, cause I know we shouldn't expect much anymore, but its way too cruel for him to be threatening Jack when he is the one who bloody shot him...

Bill Bell's Victor would have at least felt some ounce of remorse.....

Wait there was a time when they weren't rivals in the last twenty years?

In the mid-90s for a few years when Jack was Victor's #2 until Jack bungled some important business deals, namely getting Nick involved in acquisition of a very troubled company that overlooked.

That was truly the best time for Victor and the Newmans.....I think Bill Bell must have gotten tired himself of having to see Victor come out on top....he probably knew it was getting into Braeden's head that Victor would never lose, so he wrote that scene where Cole supposedly punched him for exhuming Eve's body....I would still like to see that....

Pointless Victor will always win.

basically. Learned to stop rooting for Jack ages ago. He will ALWAYS end up losing. I mean in this whole thing, you'd think he wouldn't after everything Vic's done to him... but nope. By the end of this arc Jack will be the one everyone in town hates, and probably be hooked on painkillers again. smdh

I sometimes wonder if convincing myself that Jack deserves all this and that Victor should keep winning, would help me watch this crap....I can't stop for some reason....

I honestly believe for some reason if Y&R does have a future and they become smart and let Pratt and Phelps go, there will one day be a producer or HW that will successfully explain to Braeden why it's a good idea to see Victor suffer for all he's done and he will some how allow himself to play Victor as defeated......it's all fantasies I know.

Typical delusional Jack - always the victim, but neglects to mention that he's been hiding Victor, Jr./Adam/Gabe. Honestly, I have zero problem with them showcasing 'classic' Y&R actors - I'd much rather see EB/PB sniping at each other than one second of characters like Porney, Austin, etc. While some of the stories, pacing and logic may be lacking, the strategy of primarily focusing on vets is paying off. Even a loser character like Sage is at least serving some purpose (still likely she was girl that Nick hurt in the retro s/l and will definitely deliver Adam's kid). The character that really needs to leave: Summer, but I believe it will be difficult to write her out unless she wants out.

er, that has nothing to do w/ what Vic's done to him. Jack is most certainly a victim of Victor's horrible acts.

NOTHING Jack has done warrants anything Vic's done to him these past few months. Shipping Jack off w/ a psycho and replacing him w/ psycho (that Phyll's been screwing this entire time *gag!*) is above and beyond. Victor is an indefensible MONSTER at this point. Worse than Adam.
