No wonder Faux News barely covered the scandal.

And Megyn Kelly will make it seem "impartial," even though it likely won't be.

I'm sure we'll hear People and the other shills saying they did awesome and should be forgiven.

I can't say I'm surprised by these comments.

This is a family built on abuse and what disgusts me most is that a major television network and many millions of Americans are willing to carry it along.

TLC literally exists today on the lives of molested children.

I will never watch TLC or buy People again (I rarely did anyway in recent years) - I guess that's about all I can do. I don't know who owns them and what other channels and magazines they carry.

Megyn Kelly did her best to shill for these folks, but this ain't gonna fly. Jim Bob Duggar said, "The real concern is leaking juvenile records!" And somehow, Michelle Duggar insisted, on-camera, that their daughters have been more victimized in the last few weeks than 12 years ago. "They didn't even know, we had to tell them!" That is a massive gaffe and will be the big takeaway.

The media has a lot invested in them so I think we may see "Duggar comeback" and "the real story" type spreads as people move on to something new and the bucks start to rake back in.

So was she saying they didn't even know they'd been molested? That's frightening to think about, if that's what she said. What the hell goes on in that house to make them think that was everyday behavior from their brother, if that's what she is claiming?

Oh, they didn't know because they were asleep?

The police report said one of the girls went to the parents, so that's just a lie.

It's also not true. Everything they said was shot through with lies in information that is now all public knowledge, and the fact-checking on that will be in every major media outlet by morning.

I know it's tempting to believe the worst of our society or a bad situation and I can understand that up to a point, but there's also a point where that doesn't match the facts. I think they failed to reach enough hearts and minds with this nonsense, and I think that was their last hope with TLC. I don't think they will survive this, but I could be wrong.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
