I don't think it's terrible at all. I'm fully aware of the sledgehammer Jean and Goutman took to ATWT, but NOTHING can be worse than moRon. Jean did some pretty good work on YR, and she's passable. Why does the one black man, who happens to be on the wrong side of the law, actually does real hard time? Like seriously? After all the crimes Sonny has committed, it is Shawn that'll end up doing real time.

This Denise thing is silly, annoying, cliched and unbelievable, but Maura West is excellent. It is a completely different character with the accent, even a slightly different way of walking. She really is going out of here way on this one. I doubt too many on the cast could do what she is doing. Finola Hughes was excellent as Olbrecht pretending to be Anna, but after those two I don't think anyone on the show has the talent or physical skills (accent, etc) to do what West is doing.

Your incorrect allegations aside, all I can tell you is that I watched Jean Passanante tear through AMC and ATWT and render them the most dreadful pieces of schlock I'd ever seen, to say nothing of her far from thrilling Y&R run. That woman may be a very talented breakdown writer but she is not qualified to headwrite, and she's proven it over and over. Carlivati, for all his tremendous flaws, had his good spells in the past; she has none, ever. I stand by my statement. That may not be popular for when the board wants to blame ol' Ron for all the sins of mankind, but I prefer to critique Our Ronald on what he's actually done, as opposed to making excuses for other hacks just to trash him more. Defending the likes of Passanante or McTavish only renders any actual legitimate critique of Ron Carlivati myopic and immature.

Anywho, Jean and Goutman tore thru ATWT - agreed. However, Craptini have not torn thru GH? It's an embarrassing cartoon. Who's the biggest hack? Doesn't make a difference at this point, but still, Jean cannot do worse than Ron. It's not possible to make GH more of a clusterfuck than it is right now. I'm confident.

Never be sorry about telling the truth! Craptini have been on a rampage since they got here. Have no clue what it means to helm a soap. Just awful!

Megan McTavish's only tolerable run as a HW came in the '90s when she was backstopped and propped up by a bevy of seasoned female pros behind the scenes, some of whom she alienated in the process, like her mentor. Her last run at AMC, while it may have had its good qualities, was invalidated for me immediately by being built on the brutal rape and impregnation of a pioneering gay heroine, a strategy employed to avoid using the character as an overtly romantic leading lady at all costs. Her GH run was the worst GH I have ever seen, and that includes the current era.

I'll tear RC's work apart for all the right reasons, but you'll never see me excuse either of those women, who have no business near the head writer's chair again even if their names do not feature the words "Ron" or "Carlivati". They were tearing up my block long before he could get his name above the title.
