The comments on that article made me want to lose my lunch. People are not only intolerant, but dumb as f*ck.

this is kind of amazing, but at the same time... what about the quest to find her kid in the beginning?

I'm genuinely shocked.

But some questions, wasn't Maya in search of her kid when she joined the show? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but transitioning requires pretty consistent rounds of hormones, which are expensive, how was she able to keep that up while homeless? I guess it doesn't matter since B&B is so fantastical but still.

For people who watch, was this telegraphed at all? I mean before her sister showed up and started threatening her.

Bradley Bell must think his viewers are too stupid to live.

No, it was 100% completely out of the blue with no foreshadowing at all.

And I wish I could answer your questions but those are questions all the viewers are asking themselves right now. Karla Mosley (Maya) said on Twitter that the daugher thing will be addressed on Monday but how Maya was able to afford the therapy... your guess is as good as mine.

This is B&B. For all we know, Maya could be Sheila's daughter and Sheila was the one who gave her the hormones during those years she was (allegedly) homeless and incarcerated.

Thanks! Wow...they really just came up with this plot in the last few months.

Because Eileen Davidson has enough on her plate?

But seriously. They didn't hire a transgender actress because they didn't intend at the start for Maya to BE transgender. And that's exactly why I think this twist stinks. It contradicts so much of Maya's past and the retcons and explanations and outright ignorances it will take to make this even slightly possible will be epic (and not in a good way).

Why didn't B&B just hire a transgender actress?

bc this story obviously came 2 years after she was hired. Karla did well yesterday. I have faith in her

Karla's an ok actress so I'm not surprised she did well with the story.

However if B&B was at a loss of what to do with the character they should have just written Maya out temporarily instead of having KM play a character that rightly should be played by a transgender actress.
