GH promo: Fluke has a mask!

That's probably pretty on the nose. I was trying to remember if we'd seen the scene of Fluke ripping the tape off of Luke's mouth yet but I don't think we have. Were Bill, Faison and Larry in the same cartel together? I guess it would make the most sense. I didn't know Larry and Faison had a past but it was referenced in today's episode.

Red herring, of course!

No way, I love this story. The only thing better than two Lukes is three Lukes and the fact that we are not entirely sure who the real Fluke is implies some thought was put into red herrings and misdirection.

Guza...yeah, I really need to see that unimaginitive hack back writing the literally worst GH in history.

Calls for Labine? Of course, why would I want to watch a fun story with villains and schemes and some mission impossible nonsense masks when I could watch stories about people getting cancer? How much more fun that would be!

RC is not great, but I will take this GH over the 15 years of torturous GH Guza served up.

I agree. I'd never want Guza back either and I don't think RC is better than Guza. There's loyalty to a show and then there's blind loyalty. RC is all flash and very little substance. But that seems to be the 'in' thing. Shock the audience and they fall all over themselves. This goes for numerous primetime shows too that fans trip all over themselves for.

Masks are a cheap and lame way out. And when people die, just like DAYS too (and most all soaps) and don't stay dead, how can anyone invest in the storyline? How many of us knew Hels wasn't dead last year? A bullet means squat. Hell, organ harvasting on soaps means squat. I'm more than willing to put up with stretching things on a soap but there's a point it just becomes ridiculous.

Guza is leagues above Carlivati! Yeah, Guza killed off the Qs and put all of his energy into CarSaSon, but at least he told stories and had good script writers. moRon is NOT a writer and this GH is an embarrassment. Even the bloggers masquerading as soap press can't pretend with this mess!

Its no coincidence that Craptini are awardless!

    • Ann Williams was the first Maggie Powers on The Doctors but left to have a baby. Maggie was successfully recast so Ann picked up the role of Eunice (Jo's sister on Search for Tomorrow) and played that role for 10 years before being killed of in 1976. That led to her role of Margo on EON.
    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.
