Jill often puts FOJs in anywhere she can. She did at GH, Kale Browne still never got on-camera. Guys like Kevin McClatchy had dayplayer parts, John Bolger was the five-minute mayor. Nothing about Kelly Sullivan's role suggests to me more than maybe an attempt at pairing her with a second or third-tier character which will fail. She'll be gone in 18 months tops.

I wasn't watching during the time of Sharon/Phyllis confrontation, but I sort of recall earlier in summer that Nick had a paternity test run or something and kept it a secret. Is that right? Can someone help me recall? If so, isn't Nick, who allegedly doesn't have a mental illness, no different than Sharon? I just hate this dumping on Sharon - it's sending the wrong message about mental illness and people getting treatment. And, oh, wasn't Victor's gaslighting of Sharon with GhostCassie/Mariah, the reason why she did that procedure? You know what I'd love to see? Sharon going off on everybody. After all these years, she's earned it!

I can see why Nick no longer wants to be with Sharon. Yes, Nick should have looked at the first paternity test years ago. However, I don't think he's really judged Sharon all that harshly. Yes, he's left her, but he didn't really drag her that much or even threaten her with jail time. All he did was say he doesn't love her anymore. Sharon hurt his child, why would he want to be with her after that? Plus, I'm not sure it's any great loss to Sharon in the long run. Nick hasn't been good for her in a long time, imo.

If that spoiler is true, I don't blame Nick. I would do the same thing under the circumstances. Anybody that could do what Sharon did with the DNA results, fighting with Phyllis in the stairwell and torching the Newman ranch should be thoroughly checked out and declared mentally stable before being trusted. I hate that they made Sharon mentally ill but they did and this is a logical consequence.

I'm not exactly "team Nick". At least as far as I've seen up to today, I just don't think he did anything wrong. How would Summer feel, if Nick just kept playing house with Sharon like nothing ever happened? I just don't see that as ever having been a possibility.

As to Sharon's bipolar illness, I agree that the show should not have gone in that direction and that they are portraying mental illness in an unrealistic and unhelpful fashion. If they had to make her unhinged, they should have kept it really general.

Let's not forget that even after Sharon started seeking treatment and taking her meds that she still chose to kept what she did a secret from Nick. Can't blame the mental illness for that. She thought she still might have been sick because she was seeing Cassie (really Mariah) but she was already well by then yet never opened her mouth.

      I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

        I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.

      I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.

      I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.

      Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
