June 6, 201411 yr Member That promo was so f*cking cheesy and ABC-esque. Y&R has never been a show about pairings. That's always been shows like DAYS & GH. CBS needs their asses beat for that promo because that's not going to draw in younger viewers for the summer, and SONY/TPTB at Y&R need their asses beat for thinking this "material" is good.

June 6, 201411 yr Member maybe Bells era but I feel that this show has been couple centric for years now, going back to LML's run And I've hated every second of it. Bill had his pairings too, but nothing was set in stone, and he didn't center the show heavily around couples. Every story on the canvas consists of couples in peril. It's overload and it's not Y&R. I really wish these writers and execs would go back and watch old episodes or read his autobiography. Hell, go down the hall and ask Alden and Smith what the premise of Y&R is. Every soap had a central theme that resonated; however, when these shows stray from that theme, it becomes a whole different show, which leads to their downfall.
June 6, 201411 yr Member These promos in the last year never have anything much to do with anything. It's Sony trying so hard to turn the show into an ABC soap and just not getting anything at all.
