Lucious referring to himself as a god is a part if his charm. I don't think they should change a thing about his characterization lest the !@#$%^&*] it up. He works. However there are others the writers need to work on.

I agree.  Luscious backs up everything he says and they also show his human side.  He's a great villain.  Just too much random sh!t happening with everyone else.

Episode 5 was fantastic. The season is finally getting into the groove of things. Lucious is a mess, I know the audience cringes when he says some of the stuff he says about religion. This man is a toxic, self serving, egotistical, maniacal mess and I LOVE IT!!

Looking at the night’s entertainment programs, “Empire” averaged a 4.8 rating/15 share in adults 18-49 and 12.28 million viewers overall from 9 to 10 p.m., up a tick from last week for the show’s first week-over-week gain of the season. It was also up 4% from its fifth episode of its rookie season. “Empire” was especially dominant in adults 18-34, where its 4.4 rating/17 share more than doubled the No. 2 program on Wednesday, ABC’s “Modern Family”

I'm mad this happens, just as the show goes on a mini-break for the World Series. Hope the Hakeem kidnapping plot, sparks viewer interest enough to return.

My favorite scene tonight was with the three brothers towards the end. I love seeing them bond and support each other. I really enjoy seeing Andre embrace his role as the oldest brother.

I knew Cookie new man wasn't a good man. I really hope his stunt is much longer then Cris Rock. Maybe it can last until next season. But I think Cookie going to do the honors of murdering her new boo.

It's on tonight? Damn! My DVR didn't record it - wasn't in the schedule.

It was on the schedule….but Fox kept saying it would return after the World Series….since the WS ended sooner than most thought…there was a new  episode tonight.

A 5 hour kidnapping, Hakeem has PTSD and cookie goes to meet the guys?  Trash!  That's right, IC, continue to prove me right, you dumb bitch!

Luscious continues to make me smile

I like how deep they dug in with Lucious tonight, and how that threesome that just ended with two damaged people who like to pretend they rule the universe. Marisa Tomei is great in this role, though I suspect Lucious is dangerously misjudging just who Mimi was on the phone with.

The whole surrogate son/Electra complex thing with Freda is interesting in that Lucious is using her to supplant his sons, first Hakeem and now Jamal, who is in danger of outshining him. Just a soulful, interesting episode.
