So happy Ian is back today smile.png

I've skipped the show for about a week because Sharon's SL is disgusting and the momentum seems to have shifted downward. Let's hope Ian can kick it back into high gear.

I hope Ian kicks the show back in high gear because Y&R has been drab as hell for awhile. I was hoping it'd be Victor v. Ian instead of Victor going around paying off doppelgängers to torture an erratic Sharon.

Is it bad that I still want Ian to gather up a new cult

Not bad at all because that is my hope as well.

I've been watching The Following all of yesterday and Sunday, and while I kind of don't want the cult on Y&R to be exactly like those cults, I kind of want something similar. Like having Summer still under his spell and I'd also include other characters as well

I am utterly disappointed that Ian didn't start a cult with Fen and Summer. This SL is a flop so far.

He still could, but I agree

Yeah! I cannot believe they opted out of a SL that pretty much writes itself!

I don't see anyone else falling for his charm. Well, maybe Sharon. Nikki again just because it is too ironic to pass up. Hilary, if she had been shown still struggling with her mother's death. But they have moved her past it. Mason, perhaps. It gives him something to do. Definitely Kevin if/when Chloe leaves him. Fen seems to have already found direction in his life. Summer is already having her empowerment moment with respect to Ian. I just don't see who it could be.

Thank you. But that's been the issue with Y&R as of late. Bill Bell has set up plenty of stories (in the past) that could write themselves now but these idiots can fill in the blanks to save themselves.

I agree - they totally missed storyline potential with this one. Seems like they cannot afford Ray Wise for more regular appaerances!?

The whole Ian story has been very rushed ever since Ian actually up onsceen

I'm not sure how though unless they plan to use a surrogate. Summer has already gone to the jail house to tell him off. Fen knows who he is as there was a scene where he mentioned the guy who was Summer's lifecoach getting arrested for extortion plot.

I was so sure that this was where they were going in the beginning. I guess I was wrong. I also cannot believe they took such a short cut--talk about lazy writing!

Seriously, everyone should have been still in the dark about the Ian/Summer thing, this is something that should have taken 6 months to a year to all unfold and it would of under Bill.

I think that the worse part of this all is that Ian didn't do anything to her. There is no reason for why she is confronting him in prison delivering a soliloquy. This is an even worse let down than when Phyllis and Avery's father was only guilty of a ponzi scheme. I mean really, Red taking issue with a little stolen money. All that prevaricating and arm waving, tears and arguing over a few dollars. This is Y&R. Jack duped his daddy out of his entire estate as he was sick in jail. Come on...who cares *sigh*

The Ian story feels like one of those where the writers had a cult story in mind and Sony came in and quashed it because they don't want Summer hanging on screen with an older man. This feels a like a re-write to me...
