I figured it would be Cady. Good for her, but she's not Watros. As much as I love Cady, the thin role is only interesting to me with Watros.

Honestly, Cady was the only ABC actress/actor that was successful on a CBS soap in the 2000's. Her first stint on ATWT was the first and only time I really paid attention to her as an actress. She wasn't terrible as Dixie, but I thought she did the best acting of her career during that first stint on ATWT (even if there was some shoddy writing).

Agreed. I liked Dixie but saw nothing special in the character or cady's performance. But I thought she was superb as Rosanna. But then Rosanna is the kind of character I flock too and Dixie not so much. Give me sophisticated over wholesome any day.

I wanted her to be Phylis. I loved Roseanne more than Dixie. Now that Cadie and Jon are married, I guess they're ready to become full time left coasters.

I'm fine with the casting choice. I just hope they turn her into a bitch a la CM's previous role, Roseanna. Cady plays a good one.

I think Cady's work as Rosanna on ATWT got her this role, not Dixie (and I followed both). I was highly skeptical when she was announced as Rosanna, but she really made it her own. Plus, Cady is really good with scene chewers (Hunt Block and now PB). I don't think Billy was the endgame anyway. I could see Cady and PB doing really well together.

Will this end the "FOJ" stuff now? Finally? JFP is not in control here, I am guessing.

Cady is one hell of an actress and I'm sorry that she isn't in a role that is less crap. I'm not sure I can see her with DT's Billy, or Jack, or whoever else is in this story, and she can also get very tic-cy and actressy at times, but I hope she will do a great job. When she's in her zone she's one of the best in daytime, and this show could use more people who can act.

Yes, I am very pessimistic about this paper-thin character conceived as a stunt cast for Cynthia Watros in a dull story that I find very uninteresting, especially since it's now lost the lovely and talented Ms. Watros. Cady is a great actress but she can't save that nothing character or the bad story.

I'm optimistic about a great many things in soaps; Y&R is not one of them because I genuinely don't think it's any good. Simply retaining the outgoing GH team that Ron and Frank replaced does not implicitly give it some sort of new seal of quality just because they're not Ron and Frank. They wrecked GH for years - they don't suddenly have new skills and instantly gain new virtues because they are not FV and RC. They are terribly ill-suited for Y&R, they have no understanding of that very particular show, and are turning it into some sort of weird, boring ABC-shaped widget on a fraction of their old GH budget which wrecked the ABC Daytime lineup. You've got people who worked under Bob Guza for years trying to emulate his house style on a show that's not built for it, while they too are clearly not ready for the big chair as writers. And JFP is lost at sea trying to repeat her extremely qualified "success" at GH. These people were terrible at GH and they're worse at Y&R, where that Fronsian culture of mediocrity disguised by a certain style had been kept away for decades - the MAB, etc. years were awful but they were not that brand of boring.

None of that critique either takes away or adds anything to the mayhem going on over at GH. Both shows are still very bad for very different reasons.
