DAYS wins WGA Award for best Daytime Drama

Ron should know Gary didn't "steal" his job - they both had a long, long history at OLTL going back many years, and I believe he once worked under Gary himself. Tomlin took the hit and wrote the show for a couple of months. I had heard Frons had considered having RC replaced at that time, but I've never heard that GT jockeyed for the position. Plus his team is full of Ron's ex-OLTL writers. It's so ludicrous.

I thought Ron took a lot of OLTL writers to GH? Fired all the GH writers.

He did end up firing all the Gh writers over his first sx months. However, Elizabeth Korte still has her job.

He took many of them, but I believe there are a number of really talented OLTL people at DOOL as well, including Melissa Salmons. When I watched that show early last year and heard the dialogue in some of the scenes with John and Kristen I instantly asked myself if they'd brought a few over from OLTL, and sure enough there were some.

He also fired the GH composers, who are now at Y&R

I did like Melissa Salmons.

B&B doesn't have a scab head writer, like DAYS and Y&R (did with JG). Brad Bell never went fi-core. He's in good standing with the Guild. I also doubt that B&B's decision not to put itself up for nomination has anything to do with any scab writers on its staff (not sure who those writers are, by the way).

Yes, I acknowledged that DAYS/Y&R's head writers were scab writers, while B&B just had a scab writer on staff. BTW, that writer is Kay Alden, who went fi-core during the strike to write material for B&B.

Janet Iacobuzio was at GH as Breakdown writer from January 17 to February 21, 2012

But the HW is getting nothing out of this. I don't see why the rest of the team shouldn't be awarded just because they work under him

The head writer might not have the brass or gold to put on a shelf but still get accolades because the community knows the show won WGA under his/her tenure. I understand the dilemma but that is the way of unions.

Agreed. What are union writers supposed to do, turn down a paying job just because their boss is no longer a union member?

Nope. Not turn it down but just know that your work won't be recognized by the union. Same for shows. If you hire a none union head writer then your show won't be recognized by the union. My father had been a union president for years, but when he was offered a management position, he had to break ties with the union. It's the risk you take. All I am saying is I understand where Ron is coming from. Beyond just being a hater. Lol
