Members Vee Posted February 18, 2014 Members Share Posted February 18, 2014 Oh, Ron's spin to the press will be that he's actually proving Robin to be the greater heroine because she is sacrificing all for the greater good. Just like her parents! But that won't stop him from putting what you just wrote into the mouths of every character on the show, including Patrick. He wants it both ways. He wants to say he's "honoring Robin's history and heritage" while also running her down for the sake of a tired triangle. And the problem is that he believes those choices are not mutually exclusive, that they can coexist. They might be able to on another show, but not the GH of the last year or so - it's been too imbalanced. But he truly believes, I think, that he can honor Robin and eventually show her to be right "in the end" but still come down on her, have her loved ones trash her for doing this and that everyone will be fine with it "in the end" when they see his great future story. I hope I'm wrong, that he unrings the bell a little for Robin with her husband and child before she goes, has her tell Patrick the truth. But I'm not expecting much. If anything, Patrick took the tougher beating through the course of this mess, and Ron is flagrantly pandering to the audience to have sympathy for him. He's making sure Sabrina isn't tainted too. But they may as well have Easton walk through those scenes in a brownish bathrobe, carrying a placard that reads "See! Poor Patrick! He gave up Sabrina the Perfect and Pure of Heart for this selfish bitch who is throwing his love away to rescue Jason the Terrible! BOOOOOO! HISSSSSS!"
