Y&R: TMZ reporting on Michael Muhney

This story that named Hunter King was definitely broken first on SON by SharonRocks. The story then spread like wildfire across the soaps boards.

In any case, AM does not work for Sony so MM fans' are sure to be disappointed that it cannot fire her since she works for CBS.

the article is not pulled. The site must be getting too much traffic cause its slow, but its still there

SONY couldnt but could CBS. I seriously doubt anything will come of this . This just seems like it has 9 lives.

John, let us spare you what little suspense your heart may yet harbor: Nothing will come of it. There is nothing to that talk. It's only being whipped up to try and cloud the issue and talk about anything other than Muhney and this accusation.

Oh, so now folks have moved on to retaliation...trying to get others fired too. It's like the old, "well if he must go then so should everyone else involved." This attempt, at least, means that they accept he deserved to be fired. I wonder if her dismissal will make the Stans. feel better as they continue to watch the show after MMs last air date. I doubt it.

You nailed it. There is a desperation to make "someone" pay other than MM. CBS is not going to fire AM over this no matter what fantasy scenario MM fans like John dream up. While AM is likely one of TMZ's sources, how on earth could CBS prove that? And why would it open itself up to a lawsuit from her over a no name actor like MM?

MM is gone deal with it!

Well, let's review:

  • Jeanne Cooper is dead, so she can't be made to "pay" unless they hold a seance
  • Sexual harassment workshops are pointless if you've fired the only alleged perpetrator on-set (other than the late Jeanne Cooper, a.k.a. History's Greatest Monster)
  • Angelica McDaniel cannot be proven to be the source of any leak, which began weeks ago prior to TMZ taking up the story
  • Hunter (Haley) King is not gonna be fired over it
  • Both Victoria Rowell and Michelle Stafford are no longer with the show
  • Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman's fistfight happened at least twenty years ago

So yeah, they're out of options. There's only one thing left to talk about: Muhney.

So much in that highlight Hollywood article makes little sense. But I found this sentence particularly ridiculous and irrational:

"The winner in this? TMZ, who has been ignoring soaps and specifically “The Young and the Restless” for years, they finally got the attention they wanted from soap fans. "

If TMZ is ignoring soaps and Y&R, why would they be coveting soap fan eyeballs to their site. The use of the word "finally" makes it seems like they were just pining for soap fan hits. It just doesn't follow. If they ignore soaps then they don't care about soap fans coming to their site!

This could have been reported 6 months ago, but it often takes a while for HR to investigate the matter and come to a conclusion. King may have filed her complaint with HR/show bosses 6 months ago, but they obviously had to investigate the matter, which meant Muhney was allowed to stay on until they could come to the conclusion that King's accusations had some girth to it and the show needed to fire Muhney in order to protect their asses from a serious lawsuit.

I've seen this happen all the time. Not everyone gets fired ASAP, especially when there's so many parties involved.
