January 5, 201412 yr Member IA with that. They seemed to be chem testing and Hope should have had an affair which Ciara found out about and turned into a real demon child. Bo would learn of this while overseas and file for divorce. Before anything could get finalized, he would "go missing" and be presumed dead while on assignment, making Hope feel extra guilty. Her story would be about fighting her attraction for Vargas while facing the judgement of Bo's family and a daughter that resents her. Hope having her Horton halo tarnished could have led to some interesting developments for the character and one that didn't involve a brain chip, amnesia or drugs I had the feeling that was the direction they would take as well but it seems the show was busy with too many other things. A shame.

January 6, 201412 yr Member I just don't think they wanted to write for her, A and B, they were probably leaving her on hold because weren't there brief talks with Reckell last year that went nowhere? Or am I imagining that? And because they film a gazillion years in advance, the longer she languishes, so I can see that being the case, but I still don't feel they want to write for her. It's basically Ciara and she's Ciara's mom. Not that I'm complaining, I'd watch Ciara each and every day if there weren't child labor laws I assume that restricts her airtime.
January 6, 201412 yr Member Honestly, I was never into Princess Gina. I never found KA convincing as Princess Gina with the fake Eurotrash accent. I liked Nightime Hope because she was hilarious, karate-chopping that doctor, but the story itself went nowhere. I much prefer Hope as she is now, police commissioner and mother. Ciara has given Hope life more than Bo has done for a good 10 years. And BTW I think Bo (as played by PR) is as tied to Hope as Hope is to Bo. It was the character under RKK who was "allowed" to have other relationships with Carly and with Billie. No shade on PR but he did not have the sexy chemistry with either CC or the women who played the Billies. Ick, I still shudder when I think of that "love" scene between CC and PR when she mauled him like a pro wrestler. RKK, for all his nasty backstage proclivities, oozed sexiness with both CC and LR. But back to Hope. I think she needed this time to settle on the canvas as essentially a single mother. Bope were an iconic pairing for years so I can respect that they needed to rest her a little after the MarDar disaster. Right about now, though, I'd like to see a little more of her. KA does have chemistry with so many characters on the show, including Vargas (who they can always bring back) and Rafe (though I don't want Hope lumbered with that jackass -- Kate is well rid of him). I would love it if Julie and Doug were on more, too. I still get the happy giggles when I think of that "Magic Donuts" scene featuring many of the Horton women.
January 6, 201412 yr Member Another good week this past week. I feel it was a little slower moving - but that's probably a good thing with it being New Year's week. Still very well written though! Here's my thoughts 1) I love how many jokes that closet has gotten. First Sonny was in the closet. Now Will was hiding in the closet. I love the comedy! 2) Brady's intervention was good.. but I wish it could have been dragged out for a few episodes. I would have liked to see Brady really break down (maybe that is still to come), have him crying in Maggie's arms. It's seemed like we missed some opportunities with it. 3) I'm really liking how Liam's introduction has been very slow. I really want to know more backstory on him. 4) Loved Sami/EJ working the bar together on NYE (and of course seeing T!) and I loved Ali/James' stuff on Friday. They just play off each other so well! It's always great drama. I love their Rhett-Scarlett relationship 5) I also really appreciate Abby/JJ's sibling relationship. For so long it seemed the show had a hard time writing friendships, sibling relationships, parent-child relationships. All we saw were lovers or ex-lovers. It's so refreshing to see JJ/Abby have a close sibling relationship.. and not only that but friendships between Abby/Gabi, JJ/Rory, the Kate/Gabi/Sami interaction, JJ/Will, etc. It makes the show so much healthier! 6) I for one LOVE the birdwatcher! 7) I can't wait for the Jordan storyline to pickup. I CAN'T WAIT to see more Bryan Dattilo coming up and him interacting with Jordan and Jade Harlow's character! Lucas is a TRUE HORTON and deserves and NEEDS to be focused on by the writers! I'm not saying Lucas should be "leading man" 24/7.. but he DOES need storyline! 8) I totally agree that the Kate/Sami scene on Thursday was totally thrown in. Having Ali's hair under that sock cap... and the scene definitely felt like filler. I'm cool with that every once in a while though.. as long as it's still believable. They did a good job of sneaking that scene in. 9) Moment of the week for me... Chandler's last episode! Of course it wasn't an intended send-off since his departure was so abrupt. But I'm really glad his final scene was with Freddie. I'm also glad he had scenes with Ali and James in his 2nd to last episode. I wish he would have had a scene with Dee there at the end, but again I know it wasn't really a "planned" exit (especially from the writer's perspective). But Chandler had quite a bit of airtime his last 2-3 weeks, so that was nice. The character of Will Horton is my favorite Days character of all time and I thank Chandler for doing such a great job with Will and wish him all the best! Happy 2014 everyone! Amen sister (or brother) and Happy New Year! I pretty much agree with everything you said. I thought last week was rather solid, and the episodes leading up to NYE were great. I enjoyed Brady's intervention -- and the fact that he fooled everybody into thinking he really wanted to get sober. Also the Ejami scenes were great. I am really hooked on this pairing because Days really works hard to play all the beats and different twists and turns in their feelings and emotions. They are the best written major pairing on soaps right now, IMO. JJ/Abby sitting on the bench watching the fireworks was such a sweet, intimate scene between two siblings, without being saccharine or forced. It actually made my heart soar watching it. Kate is amazing and I love it when she is on. EXCEPT when she is in scenes with Jordan/Rafe. I hate that snoozetastic pairing with the fire of a thousand suns. This would be a good time for Rafe to be written out and Jordan to turn out to be somebody interesting. Bring on this week! Edited January 6, 201412 yr by Cat
January 6, 201412 yr Member The show is really lacking in men Hope's age. The only two available ones are up Jennifer's ass and I guess there is John but ewww to the thought of that again Edited January 6, 201412 yr by Cheap21

The only two available ones are up Jennifer's ass and I guess there is John but ewww to the thought of that again No way, Cheap, don't even put that into the soap ether! I wouldn't wish Smell the Fart & Sniff My Fingers on anybody. Moreover, McHairychest's penis called, it says it needs a delousing and a vacation from all the women who want to touch it. I wouldn't be against a chem test with Liam but I personally think Hope needs a stronger character. Perhaps a naughtier character, too. I know they've been there, done that but... Justin?
January 6, 201412 yr Member I don't think they'd put her between one of the super couples and lets face it, it would be a dead end pairing as he'd eventually get back with Adrienne. They could have revisited it last summer when the two were on the outs over Sami's trial but I guess another missed opportunity This will never happen but I'd love for Peter to return and hook up with Hope. Jennifer would be LIVID and I think a real pairing with a Dimera would be an interesting development for her given the sordid history she has with Stefano Edited January 6, 201412 yr by Cheap21
January 6, 201412 yr Author Member LOL - what in the world was that bizarre moaning music at the end with EJ/Abby? WTF?

That man had chemistry like fire! And, actually, that is great idea given the ramifications -- on Jennifer, and on the Bradys. LOL - what in the world was that bizarre moaning music at the end with EJ/Abby? WTF? A taste of what's to come? Chad popped that cherry, now EJ is going to make it sing.
January 6, 201412 yr Member Why is that bc as mentioned, she's done some heinous things? Trying to murder multiple people puts her in line with the likes of Kristen and Vivian. She has her kids but she doesn't belong to any of the beloved Salem families that would grant her an automatic pass for her crimes I think they just really love Lauren. She's never left the show for one, so they've never had to write her out by having her go to the extreme and having people want her dead. I'm trying to remember times when Kate has been ostracized by everyone, but even when people in town hated her she still always had Billie or Lucas or Austin on her side and since those were seen as somewhat good characters, it made her less evil. Also Kate's plots have always been out of jealousy or righting a wrong against her children.
January 6, 201412 yr Author Member Not the Shawn Christian headline I was hoping for, but I'm glad it was nothing serious. http://soapoperadigest.com/content/days-star-injured
January 6, 201412 yr Member Not the one I was hoping for either, but glad he's OK. However, ugh at the kissing line.
January 6, 201412 yr Member If they brought back Jason Brooks, I would be all over it! That man had chemistry like fire! And, actually, that is great idea given the ramifications -- on Jennifer, and on the Bradys. I still say Liam as Peter with plastic surgery. This can all play out with Hope getting involved with Peter, not realizing who he is. And we don't have to deal with the whole Jason Brooks drama redux.
January 6, 201412 yr Member I actually like that scenario. I'm very curious what they're going to do with Liam, although isn't Mark Collier recurring? Not that it means anything really anymore. And just for the hell of it, a comparison: vs. (PS, I love when I Google Jason Brooks actor, the first suggestions is Jason Brooks actor Melissa Reeves. Heh. Good times) Edited January 6, 201412 yr by KMan101
