NL started taping in October 2010 though and I think it was February when we found out she was replaced. I think it depends on how you look at it. The audience didnt get to see much of her before she was dropped but TPTB saw 4 months of her work.

Ray Santos on Guiding Light. The first guy was at Danny and Michelle's first on-screen wedding, and then suddenly became a priest with a different face. I always wished they'd done more with George Alvarez's Father Ray.

Daniel Pilon didn't seem to last long as Alan, but memory's kind of hazy there.

There were two actresses that played Sharon briefly, one of them being Monica Potter before Sharon Case was cast on Y&R.

Erica Hope briefly played Nikki in 1978 before Melody Thomas Scott was cast.

Veleka Gray played Lila Montgomery on ATWT shortly before they hired Ann Sward.

I don't remember exactly how long he was on (in 2000) but Marc Brett was GH's first Zander, a thuggish-looking guy who kidnapped Emily. Maybe when they decided to go the romance route fairly quickly is when they went with Chad Brannon. I remember thinking at the time that they hired a cuter guy to pair with Emily.

Dark Shadows was notorious for this as well. There were actors who played very briefly played Willie Loomis, Sam Evans, and Dr. Woodard before John Karlen, David Ford, and Robert Gerringer, respectively, assumed the roles.

AW's Russell Todd was cast as a man living next to Taylor, who was suspected to be her stalker. That didn't go nowhere.

A PC actress (Tamara Davies?) was introduced as Dr Tricia Quick when Taylor died. She got involved with Thorne and there was some mystery about her past. That didn't go anywhere.

Lilly Melgar was brought as Claudia Cortez for a big storyline with Thorne. She was dropped after a few months along with her brother Lucien and her mother.

Oscar "Ozzy" Marrone, the first Mrs. Thomas Forrester (Gaby?), Harry Jackson (who would probably turn out to be Nick's son), Dr Marc McLaine, Giovanni Lorenzano, Antonio Sabbato Jr's Dante were all dropped within a few weeks/months.
