EXCERPTS:

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Exclusive-Young-Restless-Kays-Memorial-1069309.aspx

'Among the stars returning for the flashback-packed tribute areLauralee Bell (Christine), Tricia Cast (Nina), Patty Weaver(Gina), Adrienne Frantz (Amber), Beau Kazer (Brock) and '80s rock sensation Michael Damian (Danny) who will perform, "That's When I'll Stop Loving You." The ceremony will be conducted by Father Todd Williams, the recurring character played by Cooper's real-life son Corbin Bernsen.'

'Letters from Mrs. C. to several top characters, including Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Jill (Jess Walton), Victor (Eric Braeden) and Paul (Doug Davidson) will arrive soon after the news of her death. The contents of those letters, and the reading of Katherine's will a bit later in September, will "shake up the show in dramatic, drastic ways that will change it forever," Phelps says. "There's no greater tribute we can pay to Katherine, or to Jeanne, than to make sure their presence on Y&R will always be felt."

Phelps says Nikki's letter will trigger a major plot for Thomas Scott, "one that will haunt her character and pull in many players as we go into the fall. It's a real front-and-center story, the kind the fans have been asking for. Jill's letter sets up a mystery that will, at first, drive her absolutely crazy. Paul's letter from Katherine tells him to 'Follow his heart.' Christine also gets a letter but I can't talk about that one just yet." Victor's letter is also a big secret — but that's because he's not going to share it with anyone.'

Why are they bringing Adrienne Frantz back but declined to bring back Thom Bierdz! *shake head* Makes no sense...Writers we already know that Cane is not P3. Having the real P# there will not make Cane inheriting most of Kay's estate more ridiculous. We mostly think it is ridiculous anyway.

I like the idea of the letters...

More people could have def made a return, but at least Nina,Chris,Danny and our beloved Gina will be back......I was hoping that Quinn Redeker would be back as Rex's ghost or something for a special scene where he greets Katherine in heaven or something like that......

regardiing Victor's letter, who bets that either Victor is Katherine's son, or that Victor and Jack are brothers??

I still think he will be on: He was definitle yon set judging by that one photo with Patty Weaver someone posted on here. Why would he if he weren't returning in one kind of capacity.

PS: I'm thrilled taht Amber is returning as the KAy/Amber dynamic was pretty good. I hope she and Jill get catty!!!

They probably couldn't decide on which Mac to bring back, and the definitive one (Ash Bash) is now busy with a medical career. But glaring nonetheless.

I couldn't care any less about Bierdz, and I'm glad they've sort of forgotten about him. I don't need to see his "emotional acting." ::shutters::

Though I do realize it would be important for some to have him there.

I'm not surprised Mac isn't returning only because Grandma Mac was horrible and they probably didn't want to recast for Kay's memorial.

I could care less about Bierdz not returning. He's a sucky actor( I don't need a repeat of his crying at Cane's funeral) and that story that brought Phillip back from the dead was just so damn awful.

Since when is AF a Y&R fan fave?

Brenda Epperson played Ashley for years and would've been a fine choice. Unpopular I know, but Kelly Kruger would've been fine if that was the only chance we had to get Mac back. Her fiance works on B&B, so I'm sure she's been to the set and they know she's a available. It just doesn't make sense to not have people like Chance, PHILLIP, Mac and Ashley there. Beyond the Chancellor family, the Abbott's were the most central to Katherine. Cane shouldn't be as heavily featured as he is. He means nothing to them. He LIED to them. Just sick.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
