AMC & OLTL Get Summer Run On OWN

DVR listings aren't an announcement...and the OWN websites for both AMC and OLTL have yet to be updated. At least, this change isn't on Prospect Park, but I hope the people manning the twitter accounts let their followers know what is going on with the schedule.

So long as they announce it, I think it's good news. The numbers jumped a lot in the second week already.

Sadly, I don't consider this a good thing that they cut back on airing reruns. It's great that they are airing AMC & OLTL like they should have been doing from the start but sadly I think OWN is just going to consider this a failure while it is their and PP's fault this didn't work out well. Very poorly scheduled and promoted.

As long as OWN is continuing to air them, I'm not complaining. If someone said two years ago that we'd still have both shows and they'd be online and on OWN with a wacky schedule, would anyone be griping? This is still an experiment and I'm really happy that PP and OWN are trying different approaches to figure out how to best meet viewer demands. It's better than not having them at all.

That's my take. We're already well through the looking glass here. All we can do is let it ride.

I don't subscribe to cable nor OWN so I obviously am not watching on TV, only online but I thought the fact that they cut back means that they were no longer cannibalizing themselves on episodes by airing too often.

I don't know if these are the same sites as the the ones referred to in this post, but the new Monday - Thursday 1 hour block/AMC & OLTL schedule is now reflected in main schedule on the OWN website, plus it's advertised on the AMC & OLTL pages.

Okay so they must have updated the OWN site since 4:20 ET this afternoon. I'm glad they did that.

I'm waiting for the people who will spin this into a "They're removing airings because they're not happy with the shows' performance" thing. Ass to the curb.

Yeah. Although, when you go to the site's "Shows" page, under the AMC & OLTL images, the times listed are incorrect.

It is bad for people who have a DVR and can only record one show at a time. While the other schedule was ridiculous there were times where both AMC and OLTL aired where there is no conflict with other soap operas. I wish they would have even an overnight or weekend marathon, for those people.

Most DVR's can record more than one show at a time.

Thank you. My DVR list is getting pretty full. AMC comes on just select that to record. Then arrow over to the next show, OLTL and select and record. There ya go. First runs and repeats and then delete when you want to.
