Deadline is reporting that James Gandolfini had a heart attack and died in Italy. He was a talent. He made me sometimes root for and love a little the monster that was Tony Soprano.

RIP, James.

I always disliked The Sopranos, but I was able to enjoy his performance in the wonderful TV movie, Cinema Verite.

wow, total shocker. I guess considering his weight this may not be totally a shock to his doctor. Whether it was weight or diet, people have to start taking care of themselves because there is no reason a guy 50 years old should be dying of a heart attack.

Lots of people die of heart attacks earlier than 50, some due to extra weight, some due to genetics. The guy is dead, it is tough on his friends, family, and fans. Spare us all the lecture or at least wait until he is cremated or buried..

This is shocking, I saw the first season the Sopranos, he was good but I did't like it, not that it was bad, I just couldn't get into it.

51 is incredibly young, far too young to die. RIP James.

I had no idea this was now a forum where I have to pretend to be personally affected by this loss, instead of actually commenting on this topic as the news that it is. If his mother reads this board she has my apologies, as we start to move away from her we wind up running into people reading this as the news item that does not affect their lives one bit, and while it is sad he is dead, it is still a story posted for commentary.

Spare me your fabricated concern for people you never met and this contrived outrage over something that really was just another post on just another topic on just another message board.
