I think the appeal of Franco was he was A) played by a celebrity, and he was this crazy almost Batman-type supervillain giving clues in paitings and doing theme based crimes. I just wish they'd make that part clear to viewers early on, if that's the case. I don't think this "is he Franco?" story interests people as much as the show thinks it does.
