The Young and The Restless Shocker: - Actress Leaving

I hope Beth Matiland stays & gets a story!

I think the balance has tilted too far in the newbie direction much too quickly. I’m not invested in any of them yet, not even close. Heck I have a hard time remembering who's who. NuAbby & Courtney could be the same person. I have no idea who that guy was at the table with Lily today and what’s more I didn’t even care enough to find out I just hit FF.

It takes years for me to care and the lack of vets I care about in the newbie scenes & stories is causing me to fast forward through the newbies so I’m never going to know them if they continue on like this. The newcomer I know and like best is Carmine because he’s immersed in a story with vets.

Avery lacks the chops to play lead. Like MS or not, YR needs a trouble making mixrr.

Avery looks like a cow. MS has a grest body, the sort most people would kill for. JG is an idiot for pairing a stud like Nick with a Lane Bryant model

Jessica Collins and Michelle Stafford are BOTH extremely attractive. Why the hell is it a contest all of a sudden?

Neither of them are your usual cookie-cutter boring blonde model type and thank god for that.

JC is not a bad actress but yeah Y&R needs a trouble maker. Avery and the other new lead woman Chelsea are being pushed as heroines. I find both boring.

I can't wait for MS to leave in fact I'm counting it down on my calendar. tongue.png Hopefully she will take her hateful and disgusting fans with her.

it's funny, because peeps feel it wouldn't be any loss to lose MS, and yet look @ this 20+ page thread... LOL

i wonder how long the thread will be when Y&R's ratings dip, JFP is fired, SB is fired, and MS returns.

It makes me sad that so many viewers don't understand the Phyllis character and dismiss her as a "troublemaker" because she's not a classic Mary Sue like Christine, Sharon (pre-MAB) or Lily. She isn't just a "troublemaker". Phyllis Summers is one of a kind. She is a complex, flawed heroine, the type of character Y&R had never seen before, nor will it ever again.

Umm I think that everyone on here does understand Phyllis, they just don't care for her anymore regardless of her being a troublemaker. You can blame LML & MAB for that. They force fed this character down our throats, thus why people don't want her to stay. And sorry, but Phyllis isn't that "complex." I've always seen Phyllis as Sheila Carter-lite, even in her original run. She's not something that we haven't seen before. As people stated, for every Phyllis there is a Leanna Love, Lorie Brooks, Skye, or the greatest Y&R villain/troublemaker . . . Sheila.

Also, Sharon has NEVER been a Mary Sue character. Sharon has always been that girl from the wrong side of the tracks that got lucky with Nick; however, she had a shady past and demons in the closet. Sharon is nothing like one note Lily or Cricket.

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
